I will recommend Trupanion to friends.
My dog became very sick and spent 10 hours in a vet hospital in Lebanon, NH. I took him to have his regular vet check him over only to be told he needed to go to Woburn, MA to a high level pet hospital. He spent 4 nights with them. Trupanion paid 90% of all bills pertaining to this illness, less the exam fees at all three places and the deductible. Very thankful we had insurance on him.

Speedy claims
Trupanion does an amazing job with claims and helping out families during some pretty emotional times of crisis. We just had a rough couple of days with some hard decisions to make regarding our dog's health, and I was amazed at how quickly claims were approved, which meant we didn't need to sit and wait to make decisions. The pup is now recovering, and we couldn't be more pleased by the help Trupanion gave us.
