The claims experience is easy but I don't understand how the lifetime deductible works.

The claims experience is easy, but I don't understand how the lifetime deductible works. I put in a couple of claims for my dog's diahhrea issues, and was given another deductible. The deductible was met after 2 claims, but the other 2 claims were put to another deductible. The lifetime deductible was not used in this scenario. I haven't found in the contract where it states this exception.
