Great customer service

This is my first pet and had no idea about pet insurance. I foster parent recommended pet insurance as well as ASPCA. I took my Mac to the vet for a potty issue. The vet was great as well as ASPCA insurance. I filed my claim and was a little bumpy as I needed to send them Mac's medical records. I did but I item just would not send. The girls were great. First Bonnie stayed on the phone while I sent everything as some items didn't go through. She walked me through but still one page just wouldn't go. Another day a girl (sorry forgot her name) said the page still didn't go through. It finally went through and the claim finally filed. Customer service was top notch. Compassionate, Helpful, Friendly and great trouble shooters.

claim took over 30 days

My claim took over 30 days to complete which was really long for someone who just had a pet emergency and used up most of there savings it’s just way too long, other than that I’m blessed I signed up on time and my animal was able to get the expensive emergency visit done and reimbursed.

Denied for TARTAR ???

The most trusted insurance company does NOT cover the most common issue (tooth extraction). Trupanion claimed a "pre-existing condition" because the vet noted tarter build-up on a previous visit. Most (if not ALL) dogs have this very early in age. I find this an excuse not to pay the $2000 bill. I will give Trupanion ONE more chance to pay our next claim or I will most likely cancel my policy.

The process to add claims is easy enough but I think their definition of "preexisting conditions" is way to strict. Claims were denied because my pet has been to the vet before insurance was added for these issues (e.g., urinary tract and ears), but there's a difference between that and a true preexisting condition that was diagnosed. My pet received no such diagnosis, and I pay good money for the most encompassing insurance policy. Sounds more like the insurance company simply trying to avoid paying claims at all costs.
