Chocolate poisoning
Our 35 lb rescue dog that we have had for 8 mos. helped himself to a 20 oz bag of dark chocolate chips. He ate the whole thing.Our vet directed us to poison control, and then to a vet hospital. The diagnosis was “chocolate poisoning”. Jazz spent a day and night in the ER. filled with charcoal and drugs to stop his heart from racing, and now is as good as new. Filing the claim with Embrace was easy using their app and we were reimbursed within a couple of weeks. The Embrace people have a sense of humor and were supportive through the whole process. Highly recommend. This is the first time we have had pet insurance and it paid off. After having used it we have a little more peace of mind.

Frustrated
I appreciate that Pets Best and pet insurance in general exists to help mitigate the expenses of pet emergency care. But I am frustrated at how often claims are labeled "not covered" and thus I'm not reimbursed. There also doesn't seem to be an easy mechanism for disputing or explaining further why an expense should be considered "covered".

If only human insurance companies were this great!
I have had multiple claims for my cat Oreo. Having her insured has saved me thousands of dollars. Filing is so much easier, i wish human claims was this easy!!!

I've been paying for over a year for nothing.
I've been paying for over a year and 1⁄2 and nothing's covered. It the first time I've ever tried pet insurance Every time I ask for coverage it wasn't covered with all the hoops and paper work paperwork needed that was filed There would always be an excuse. The breed I have is a In the high risk category That's why I purchased insurance to make sure that the dog would stay healthy. My vet told me it a waste of money on my last visit. That why they have big yachts. I wasted over $1,000 on nothing because it didn't cover nothing.

Took my dog in for a wellness checkup…
Took my dog in for a wellness checkup and routine vaccinations. When I got home I submitted my claim since I have the wellness add on. Got approval of the claim within 3 hours and am getting full reimbursement for the vaccinations and the amount allowed for the office visit.

On first wellcare submission, Not what I expected
On first wellcare submission, coverage was not what expected. Had Embrace and their coverage was much better than Pets Best. They covered 100% while Pets Best was only about 50%

Smaller reimbursement than expected
It probably says this in the small print, but I was disappointed with my recent claim. They paid me $200 less than I expected because they only took 80% of every submission to go towards my deductible, so it took longer to reach the $500 and therefore I got back less. Why do insurance companies never give you your monies worth?

Trupanion saved my dogs life
Trupanion pet insurance saved my dogs life when he was in ICU. After 10 days of care my dog Blues vet bills were too high for us to afford. If we didn’t have trupanion to help us the decision to keep going would have been much harder. Their staff are friendly, helpful and always willing to go the extra step to help. Thank you so much trupanion - I can not recommend this company enough.
