So Grateful for this Insurance
About 2 weeks ago, my 8-year-old Dane mix Abby was rushed to the emergency vet where she was diagnosed with a hemoabdomen bleed. Subsequently, she was transferred to an emergency hospital where she had surgery and stayed through the weekend. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with cancer. Obviously, we are totally heartbroken over this development as she has been a happy and healthy girl up until this point. One comfort in this process is the knowledge that Pets Best is on our side. We enrolled her 2 years ago when she obviously had no health issues and I'm so glad we did. The tier of insurance we got for her means that after reimbursement, our out-of-pocket cost will be a very small fraction of the actual cost of her care. Knowing that made it so much easier for us to move forward with surgery and we'll continue on with chemotherapy; we just want as much time with our girl as possible as she is so sweet and precious to us. If we didn't have this insurance, I don't know how we could have covered the cost of her emergency care and surgery, much less ongoing treatment for her cancer. It breaks my heart to think we would have had to make a very different call due to our financial situation. I can wholeheartedly say that because of the wonderful doctors who cared for her and Pets Best, we are now lucky enough to have more time with our baby girl. Thank you Pets Best!

Two Year Old Yorkie, Millie
My little two year old Millie was really sick last September and needed a liver shunt surgery. After her surgery, she ended up having seizures putting her back at the Emergency Vet. There she stayed overnight, but ended up going into cardiac arrest, twice, leaving her on life support for 5-6 days. There she was weened off and she was fighting for her life. She was a very sick puppy. It was a long road of recovery for Millie but she fought every step. She had to learn how to walk, eat and learn how to just be a dog. After 30 days, she came home! Trupanion was there every step of the way and my little Yorkie wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for their compassion and care! I recommend Trupanion to all my friends and family who bring a pet into their home… I am thankful for them every day!

Fetch falls short- BEWARE!
When Fetch was Petplan- it was amazing, now Fetch has fallen short in my books. My dog (accident prone) has had a handful of insurance claims (when Fetch was still Petplan)- with the last claim being in 2019. My monthly premium went up- totally fair. Today, over three years later I go to submit a claim and see my deductible is now $750 (was $200 with Petplan), with my claim being $600 and my deductible being so high it covers nothing. Fetch has also decided to only cover 70% where as Petplan covered 80%. My dog was attacked and lost half his ear- a complete freak accident - THE REASON WE GET INSURANCE for our pets. When calling and speaking to a representative I was told because of my claim activity they had to pay out over 3% above my premiums and deductibles (over three years ago)… is that not the intent of insurance? With my monthly premiums being $32 x12 months, x3 years, that’s roughly $1100 Fetch has in their pockets and will not be covering any part of my first claim in over three years. Just food for thought. Yes, I should have carefully read the documents when Fetch took over Petplan- however we were assured that nothing would change and coverage would remain the same. Policy holders ensure you are fully reading your new/adjusted contracts with Fetch. Will be switching to a new company without a doubt. Sad to see Petplan go through so many changes yearly with new underwriters etc. I whole heartedly support pet insurance to help provide the best care for our animals, however very disappointed with Fetch.
