Best Policy
I've had my policy only for about 6 months and so far I'm extremely happy. Ive submitted 2 claims so far with a 2 day turn around on reimbursement. All agents are extremely helpful every time I call. I will probably keep this policy for as long as I'm a pet owner.

Not as Advertised
Signed up for coverage for my 15-month-old Havanese in February 2022. Submitted a claim for an ear infection. The claim was denied because my dog was at the vet in May 2021 with a skin allergy. In speaking with a rep any future conditions relating to ears, eyes, and skin would be denied as it is considered a pre-existing condition. Waste of time and money!

I just signed up with Spot for my cat and already I am wondering if i did the right move here..... never got and confirmation of a 25 dollar amazon card for paying a full year plus no one answer the phone I really am wondering if I should cancel this.

Had been insured with Healthy Paws for several years I had two pets insured Ozzie past away from cancer I called them to take Ozzie off his policy mentioned that Alvin my Schnauzer is to stay on the policy three time I found out they removed both pets without my knowledge - just got off the phone and they told me it was an error on they part. So they will review who was responsible and let me know in 7 to 10 before reinstating Alvin. I am done - with Healthy Paws.

Didn’t cover a $1100 biopsy procedure…
Didn’t cover a $1100 biopsy procedure because my cat had skin issues prior to the surgery. The last straw was actually a very small bill ($57) that was not covered for an FIV test that my vet 100% recommended. The reason they gave was that diagnostic tests are not covered when the pet shows no signs of injury or illness. I’m in a catch 22 here because the test was recommended because of the aforementioned skin issue. So if I flag that, Trupanion will say that it’s not covered because of a pre existing condition. I’ll be cancelling today. It’s just not worth the premium if nothing will be covered. I feel like my cat has a Scarlett letter and won’t ever have anything covered again.

Claims were easy to submit. My previous pet insurance required a claim form, which was tiresome to fill out. many pets wants to know for why the claim is being submitted, and upload info from the vet.
