The best
When I first got Toast from the shelter, they said she was totally healthy—I just activated this special Trupanion offer for rescues that same day because I thought, "Well, why not?" I am so grateful for Trupanion. I've only had Toast for a bit over two years, and we've already been through surgery for mammary tumors, TPLO for a CCL tear, luxating patella surgery, testing and treatment for heart disease and liver disease, and more. She had a hard life before me (she's full of BB pellets and has some old injuries) and she deserves only the very best care now. It's not fair that she has to go through so much, but I am so grateful to Trupanion for helping me make sure she gets what she needs. They have saved me tens of thousands of dollars, and they've saved my baby's life and quality of life over and over (on a teacher's salary, there's only so much room on the credit cards). My only regret is that I wish I'd sprung for complementary care coverage for physical therapy, but that was me being shortsighted when I signed up. Anyone who has a dog should get insurance, and Trupanion is literally the best there is.

Here is the dark and ugly truth
Here is the dark and ugly truth. They do not do medical history reviews until AFTER you file a claim. I went over three years paying this absurd company thinking I was covered to find out they ruled my dogs condition as preexisting. Absolutely criminal, unethical and immoral. They will do whatever they can to ensure they do not pay you. They have stolen from me for 3 years and I’ve paid 8k in surgeries they are responsible for. For military members, USAA is partnered with them and they are currently looking to drop them because of my experience alone. Google search reviews and you will see I’m not the only one to experience this.

Well I have to admit that I was impressed
Well I have to admit that I was skeptical and “Pet Insurance “ until my best friend, my ride or die buddy and yes my speechless psychotherapist aka family pet Zeus took ill. Several months prior I decided for the first time to invest into pet insurance. After several weeks of research I went with Trupanion yet still skeptical. But when Zeus fell ill Trupanion came through like a trooper. They walked us through the process, they kept us updated and worked with our Vet and the doctors at the animal hospital. They took on the burden to let us focus on our pet. We highly recommend Trupanion. They are true to their word. Thank you for being there for us. The Kelly family

Ease of using the site
It is always super easy to submit a claim, and the company also gets back to you relatively quickly (within a week or so) with the amount of reimbursement you can expect. I have also used the 24/7 help line recently to speak with a Vet Assistant, and that was very easy and helpful.
