Unrealistic claims policy
I submitted a claim for an ear infection on an 18-month-old Goldendoodle. It was denied because he had an ear infection before that was treated and was corrected. He got another ear infection unrelated to the first and I was told the denial was because of a previous instance. I was told that we would not get a claim for an ear infection approved for the rest of his life. Dogs with floppy ears periodically get ear infections and Pets Best knew what kind of dog he was when we signed up. If I had wanted catastrophic coverage only, I would have expected the price to be substantially lower than it is. It appears that unless you sign up your dog at birth, little except catastrophic events would be covered. What a waste of time and money. I cancelled the policy.

We have had Trupanion for four years
We have had Trupanion for four years. We got it when she was a puppy. It has been a great help. The staff was very kind, answered my questions and sent me a form to get pre approved after seeing a specialist. Our dog will have surgery next month and it will be covered 90%. It's very easy to file a claim or get preapproved.
