I was really unsure about pet insurance and how difficult it might be to get claims paid. But after having my newly adopted dog for just over a month, it became very clear she needed BOAS surgery. No issue at all with approval and they paid my surgeons directly. Of course I had to pay my deductible but the insurance saved me almost $2500. I wish I had this last year when my old dog had cancer.

Their adjuster's solution? Have the veterinarian write an appeal letter for review by "our chief underwriter"—the same person who made the original denial. What This Really Means: You're not buying insurance coverage. You're funding a claim denial factory that uses veterinary practices as unpaid administrative staff while hiding behind fake appeals processes. For Fellow Pet Parents: The premiums feel affordable until you realize you're paying for the privilege of being professionally obstructed when your pet needs care. Embrace has turned claim denial into an art form. Bottom Line: They sell peace of mind but deliver bureaucratic warfare when you're most vulnerable. Your pet deserves better. You deserve better. Choose literally anyone else.
They don’t like to pay
My pet had three small skin lesions removed, was charged a deductible for each one. This insurance is worthless unless your pet has a chronic condition or catastrophic injury. Instead of an annual deductible, they charge a deductible for each type of incident, and they micromanage each claim, insuring a low or no payout under most circumstances.
