PUMPKIN PET INS denied my pet prescription
Pumpkin denied a prescription Royal canine prescription diet for Kaiser that is on more than a year that always was refunded. They said to appeal but the appeal will affect other claims. Later the email information about the appeal indicates that they might impact other claims as they are related. Kaiser has exams in a week regarding his cancer status. So how am I supposed to continue caring for his care when pumpkin might stop these future expenses on the light of an appeal? The raised Kaiser premium from $117 to $177 as of January 2023. How does this look for caring for my pet?

No problem taking payments but as soon…
No problem taking payments but as soon as I went to get reimbursed by placing a deposit account I was kicked off and my account lost in limbo saying I need to register and repeatedly telling me I already have. Reached out by email, waiting, but pretty convenient for them.

Beware premium increases.
Price was fair and coverage seemed great, until I moved five minutes up the road and saw my premiums increase 40% due to "vet costs in the area." I will obviously be using the same vet I was before so this is bad policy, makes no sense, and very bad business. The customer service agent I spoke to was very polite, but it still feels a bit icky.

Absolute dishonest insurance company
Pets Best has made a clearly unfair decision to my claim. First, it took more than 6 weeks for Pets Best to make a decision. Second, Pets Best based on incomplete information, and partial evidence to decline exams with reason of "pre-existing conditions". "Pre-existing" seems to be a super token for them to decline customers' claims for anything they don't want to cover. It's a gray area, so be careful of what you said to your doctor and make sure your doctor got it right to the medical records. My dog has never been diagnosed with Urination Inconsistency prior my visit in November, 2022. It was only based on my own words mentioning that I noticed some urine dripping about a year ago, but it went away. There is no medical records to prove that my dog has urination incontinence prior my November visit. It's like if your dog had diarrhea a year ago, they would consider anything related to diarrhea is "pre-existing". Because of they determined my dog had "urination incontinence" as a pre-existing conditions, they don't even cover Urinalysis test. This is outrageous!! Urinalysis is a very common test to see if there's any infection and to seen any abnormal chemicals/ bacteria in the urine. Just based on my own words of "dripping urine", they rejected to pay for the urinalysis for rest of my dog's life!! If my words can be used as a diagnose result, I can be a doctor too. I am not a doctor, why they used my mentioning some symptoms I noticed a year ago as a medical condition. Plus, Pets Best is very dishonest on calculating the payment amount. According to the policy, after customer has fulfilled the deductible, co-pay should be calculated by multiplying anything after the deductible by the percentage of customer's responsibility based on the plan you buy. However, Pets Best used the whole amount (including the original deductible portion) to calculate the co-pay amount that I owe. I called the customer service, they just said they are complied the underwriting rules. I need to see the documentation, not anything Pets Best said is a rule. Be aware of this insurance company! Very dishonest and sneaky. They will find any loopholes of not paying.
