Ear Infection considered "Pre-Existing" condition!
First, had to go through hoops to even file a claim. You cannot file on-line, only through the app. Then you have to answer a series of questions to an "automated person" and even submit to a "video" of you describing the events of the illness. I rescued a dog. Took him to the vet shortly after adopting him and he diagnosed with an ear infection and prescribed drops. I then purchased Lemonade a few weeks later. The first claim I submitted was over a year later for another ear infection. My claim was denied as they stated it was a "pre-existing" condition. An ear infection is an acute illness, not chronic. I will be filing a complaint with the Illinois Department of Insurance and then will cancel this policy. What good is it?

Easiest insurance ever!
Lemonade is so worth it!! I actually decided on lemonade based on other reviews. My first dog was unfortunately a frequent flyer at the vet (pit with skin issues) and his insurance company was an absolute pain. My current dog had to be rushed to the emergency vet and then taken to her normal vet for more testing and care (wonky liver). Submitting the (lengthy) bills was an absolute breeze! You never want to have to use your insurance but lemonade made it so simple and easy. I was able to submit everything through the app and was reimbursed pretty quickly! The reps stayed in constant contact with me and gave me little updates throughout the claim process. Everyone at lemonade is super friendly! The rep that handled my claim, Julia, was so sweet and truly cared about how my dog was doing. I also love that if your claim does not get approved for some reason they will donate the money. Bottom line: lemonade is super easy to work with and I highly recommend it!

My dog swallowed something she could not pass so of course she had to have emergency surgery. With the accident only plan, everything was covered! It was so easy to submit the information, and every time I called for updates someone answered and explained in words I understand

This is a scam
This is a scam. I’ve been paying for a year now and not one thing was covered. Not hospital visits, not illness, nothing. They deny everything. And get this!!! Now they are increasing their rates!! They denied my dogs allergy issues because she had puppy vaginal problems. Ridiculous. They sent me a survey and said they were going to post it, I completed it and WEIRD they didn’t post it!!!! Complete scam. Don’t wast your money. You’re better off setting aside the money monthly into a savings account. Biggest regret of my life and trust me…I regret lots.

Another fantastic experience
Trupanion has always been there when I needed them most. This condition was no exception. Pebbles was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor on her ear. Needed surgery to remove her whole flap / ear. Expensive surgery but Trupanion stepped in and covered most of the cost. Thank you for always being there when I need you the most. Gary B.
