Perfect
Great customer service. No rushing, make sure your questions were answered, and you are satisfied with the response. They have processed the claims as promised, with quick reimbursement. I could not be happier. We have recently added our new Aussie with no issue. I highly recommend Pet First for the policy of your choice.

I personally work in emergency vet…
I personally work in emergency vet medicine and any client that walks through the door asking what insurance to get , I ALWAYS respond trupanion. I have saved well over 20k in vet bills since my girl was enrolled. I now have 4 dogs and didn’t think twice about enrolling each one when I got them. If it wasn’t for trupanion, I would not be able to afford the top notch care that my kids get🤍 Thank you Trupanion, for making vet care a no brainer.

For all of the problems I've had with…
For all of the problems I've had with this company, you'd think they'd stop sending me emails asking me to rate them. My 13 year old senior cat recently started showing signs of being ill so I ran her to the vet. Turns out she somehow ended up with an infection. I do my part on my end. She's listed with Embrace as a permanently healthy pet and I pay my premiums every month. I know I do because the only option to pay I have is for them to automatically take a payment off of a credit card and there is no way to change the payment date. So, all good on my end as the paying customer. I submitted the paperwork for her appointment that clear as day showed the date of her vet appointment was on Sunday, 4/16/2023. I submitted the paperwork to them the same day as the appointment, and the one thing they usually have done well is get the paperwork processed quickly. But up to Thursday I hadn't heard anything. So I called and asked, "Is there a problem with the documents I submitted?" and the girl said, "No. I'm looking at it. Everything looks good. There should not be a problem with your claim." This next morning I get an email from Embrace that Zeva's $237 infection claim was being denied because her vet appointment that took place *last* *Sunday* as of the day of this writing was more than 60 days ago. Again.... They were denying her claim because her vet appointment that took place *LAST* *SUNDAY* was somehow more than 60 days ago. Whomever processed her paperwork just didn't want to pay the claim. So they decided that her appointment that happened last Sunday actually happened on 4/16/*2021* and thus that's more than 60 days ago so they weren't going to pay it...and they were willing to risk that I was just going to take that.....that I was not going to stand up for my baby girl who is sitting at home with an infection. Why is this company offering pet insurance services if they don't want to help sick pets and their owners in emergencies like this? So I proceeded to light up someone over there and remind them that my insurance policy is a binding legal contract, so is the documentation that proves I was at the veterinarian’s office on 4/16/2023, not 4/16/2021 like they want it to be. The testimony from the people from the vets office backing me up that I was there on 4/16/2023 wouldn’t look great for them either. They do not get to alter reality to decide where I was and when so they would be wise to pay the claim. The guy looked at the documentation and was like, “Yea it clearly says 2023 on here." I was then told it would take another 15 days for it to process, again. But I got an email in about an hour that the claim had been approved in full…but not for the full amount. I was only getting back about $56 because they were taking out $175 for her deductible. So, with this my full deductible is paid for her now...on top of being a permanently healthy pet and receiving my premiums on time every month. But, let’s see what excuse they try to find to not cover a legitimate claim until I call raising hell next time.

Worth the money! …
We’ve had Trupanion for about 8 years now. We have saved so much money on both of our dogs by having pet insurance. The coverage is worth the price. The claim process is easy. I’ve never had issues reaching someone through chat and they are all friendly.

I have had this insurance for nearly 15…
I have had this insurance for nearly 15 years on my dogs. The experiences I have had over that time with ASPCA have been disappointing. Which honestly, is quite an understatement. When I knew I was in trouble was when they would not cover my girls double patella surgery. They kept insisting she was a purebred because that breed was prone to that, they don't cover it. She was not. Once that was fixed, then they said they wanted the last 2 years of her medical records. I did that. Then they dug deeper from my vet and found from when she was a little puppy, that a vet said she thought she had weak patellas and to keep an eye on it. BAM, that's all they wanted and my surgery was not covered. That was AFTER I was told they only go back 2 years. I appealed and lost. Then both my dogs ended up with liver issues later and need liver medication for the rest of their life, or they will die. They wouldn't cover it because the medicine is a supplement. And the icing on the cake? They both had Cushings (one passed on now) which is a lifelong disease. I knew I needed help with this! And I have the Continuing Care policy as well. Here is the horrible thing. You have a "lifelong" limit. Mine is over, so now I'm paying out of pocket for her expenses on her Cushings and anything that goes with it. Along with all her liver meds. I've almost hit the maximum on the whole policy, so why keep paying for something I can't use. I'm so disappointed and wish I would have done things differently. My dogs were siblings and had many of the same health issues, which was unfortunate for me, but my one girl, despite that, is going strong at 15!

BE AWARE:Tricky reimbursement rules
I have had my dog, Iggy insured with health insurance with Pet Plan/ Fetch by the Dodo for over 10 years. I had never filed a claim until last year. My premium started at around $200.00 ( year 1) to now $1300.00, which is to be expected because of Iggy' age. I purchased it with a $450.00 Deductible at with a 20% co insurance. I sent the proper information to them and they agreed to pay. Recently I made a new claim for an ER visit for a Paw issue. My 13 1/2 year old Labradoodle could not walk. The Vet visit went well. The bill was for $596.63, the agreed to pay $27.30. PLEASE BE AWARE OF HOW THEY COMPUTE HOW THEY PAY A CLAIM. The 20% Co pay is on the whole amount EVEN the amount of the deductible (in my case $450.00), the funds they would never pay in the first place. They are considering that deductible amount in the final payment. Like as if they paid from it. MOST human health insurance policies pay at a full reimbursement rate in my case $450.00 AFTER the deductible. Claim amt: $596.63 Deductible: $450.00 Total: $146.63 80% reimbursement $117.31 $117.31 vs. $27.30 Now if Iggy has to go back for the same issue they will pay on all new dollars spent @ 80%. Just be aware on small claims they go out of their way to pay smaller. They are a Closely owned private company. They could change this easily. This insurance will serve you on the larger claims. If you read in their response they stated: Pet insurance is not the same as human health insurance. THAT STATEMENT IS FALSE. However, it is true for Fetch by the Dodo insurance. There are some pet insurance companies that treat your pet just like a human. I consider IGGY as important as any human in my life.
