I'm happy I signed up for coverage with Trupanion…
I signed up for coverage with Trupanion in February. After receiving my pups medical records the company determined there was a pre-existing dental condition. This was incorrect. I contacted Trupanion and my vets office. They worked together to resolve the issue in a couple of days and now my pup has full coverage as she should. It means a lot that the company would work with me and my vet to resolve any issues. A great benefit with Trupanion and this is huge, there is no annual cap on medical expenses like with other companies. Other companies charge you to increase the small annual limit they offer. For example, even if you pay the extra their annual limit may only be $7,000. This could mean untold thousands of dollars out of pocket for you should your pet get a serious diagnosis like cancer even with that insurance. With Trupanion this is not an issue. After personally experiencing the cost associated with cancer and a leg amputaion without insurance for a previous pet I would never be without insurance again. I highly recommend getting Trupanion for peace of mind when it comes to your pet's health.

Best insurance policy for your pet
Before selecting insurance for my dog, I contacted seven different companies. I asked the questions that most people want to know. What was covered? Cost? Turn around on reimbursement. And overall I looked at all the reviews of each and every company I found that met life was one of the best rated of all the companies. My daughter-in-law works for a competitor company and tried to talk me into working out to deal with her but I told her that her company didn’t pay for everything that MetLife paid for and the compensation turnaround time and cost was 100% better, she understood and said you’re right but I do have a job here so I have to do what I need to do to try to convince you so if you’re looking for an insurance I’ve done all the paperwork, the bookwork and the legwork

I cannot say enough good things about Trupanion. Their response time to a claim and their communication with you is exceptional. As a retiree on a fixed income, their coverage eased the financial burden of the emergency care costs for my sweet kitten.

Puppy Emergency
When I purchased puppy insurance, I was preparing for that emergency situation that i never thought would happen, and then there we were with our 4 mos old puppy who was in terrible terrible pain. We cannot rave enough about the staff and Dr's, and vet techs at the new Beacon Emergency Hospital in St Petersburg, FL. They exceeded all of our expectations and grateful only begins to express the care, professionalism and kindness we received from all at 10 pm at night. They took incredible care of our pup and we can't thank them enough. Then comes the bill, to my amazement, within 48 hours we had an approved invoice from Trupanion! They provided the financial support as advertised without any hesitation. No one wants to face this expense, but things happen and you can 100% trust that Trupanion will be right there for you.
Trupanion literally saved my dogs life
Trupanion literally saved my dogs life. I received an email offering coverage through trupanion with no wait limit due to my dog being seen for her spay. Her being a hunting dog i figured this would be something I should seriously consider so I activated my 30 day free coverage. Fast forward a couple weeks and my dog became considerably ill not being able to walk,etc. We ended up at our vet who said they weren’t 100% sure but looked like our dog had tetanus and we were sent to our local animal hospital / specialist. While there the reality of how much the veterinary care of this magnitude would cost was very overwhelming. We were told that it was going to be a slow and rough road ahead but the likelihood of a full recovery was very possible. While we sat there trying to figure out how we could come up with the funds to provide her care I remembered I signed her up for the 30 day certificate but honestly didn’t expect it to do anything for us or be helpful since I had not laid out a single dollar to them. After a brief call to them they assured me that she was most definitely covered and even approved a pre authorization for her initial treatment to begin. I was in disbelief that this company stood behind there free certificate but they did and the amount of care and stay kept increasing due to the severity of her condition. After 20 days in the ICU we left with our dog and she has made a full recovery. My wife and I continued coverage and will always have them for every pet we own. We also make sure to tell everyone who has a pet about trupanion and are very grateful to them.
