Love working with Trupanion
Love working with Trupanion. They have excellent monthly rates and in the last 10 years have reviewed and covered all applicable charges within 2 days of submission. Highly recommend to anyone who has a puppy. Trupanion has saved us A lot of money in unforeseen medical expenses.

Scam
This company is scamming customers. They consider any vet visit a pre-existing condition, even if there is no diagnosis. So, all the testing while they try to find out what’s going on will be rejected. Plus, the customer rep was very rude on the phone, and kept interrupting. Their policy is written vaguely on purpose to scam customers. Perhaps rewrite your policy to be clear.

I'll never have another pet without Trupanion
Trupanion has seen me through some of my scariest moments. Years ago I had my best friend, my cocker-poo had to go through double cruciate surgery with no pet insurance. It was over $6k per leg not including PT. My father came in and rescued me and my dog paying for both surgeries. At the time I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT PET INSURANCE! After that I promised myself I would never have another pet without pet insurance. Having Trupanion when I had to make hard decisions about my next dog years later - Doing more testing, trying other medications ... all those hard decisions that without money - without insurance aren't even a choice.. Trupanion allowed me the opportunity to make a decision based on my pet's health - and not my ability to pay. Years later when I rescued my little guy (my current dog) I immediately put him on Trupanion. I know with Trupanion as little things come up - they're there. And God forbid - big things come up - they will be there.

WORST EXPERIENCE WITH INSURANCE
UPDATE: They say it’s pre existing without any diagnosis and while the pain was cervical now it is a totally unrelated area. The report says his neck is fine. Emergency surgery is urgently required for my baby. Unfortunately, due to the presence of UNDIAGNOSED pain in his middle back and cervical area without any previous scans conducted in May 2022 it could have been a sprained muscle for all we know, Trupanion, the insurance company, is reluctant to cover the costs. As a result, we are faced with the difficult decision of either finding the ressources before the end of the week. As his medication is not working and that he can get paralyzed in any seconds, he needs the surgery as soon as possible. I would like to take this opportunity to urge everyone considering pet adoption to carefully research and opt for a reputable insurance provider. It is crucial to choose an insurance company that prioritizes the well-being of pets rather than simply focusing on financial gain. As many pet owners have experienced, insurance companies like Trupanion often employ strict criteria and try anything to refuse to cover, making it challenging to file claims. They tend to find the smallest reasons to deny coverage, disregarding the fact that suspicions and diagnoses can be vastly different. For instance, it is possible that my baby may have simply sprained a muscle, yet Trupanion has denied the claim without considering this possibility. In summary, it is essential to select a reliable insurance provider that genuinely cares about the health and well-being of your pets. This will help ensure that they receive the necessary care and treatment without unnecessary hurdles or financial strain. I would DEFINITELY not recommend Trupanion to anyone.
