Trupanion has done a wonderful job in the pet industry providing medical insurance for pets. We've provided info about Trupanion to new pet owners for at least 5 years. As a clinic owner and veterinarian I have always provided the care for my pets and not even thought about getting insurance for my own pets. However, the cost of specialist care as gone way up, along with everything else in the world, since COVID in 2020. Recently a bone plate repair for one of my patients was $7k at the specialist, and it was an excellent repair. Then, a whopping $10k for another patient in speciality care due to intestinal surgery to remove a foreign body and weeks of after care. Again, excellent job by the specialist, but most of my clients can not afford several thousands of dollars in medical bills. Neither dog had insurance, but thankfully both owners had lots of credit cards. Anyhow, recently I acquired to Anatolian Shepherd pups to work on the farm and keep the birds and livestock safe. I decided it was time to enter the world of pet insurance in the event they need help from the specialist. I hope I never need it.

Wonderful, but room for improvement
Pets Best was phenomenal the first time I had to use it. The submitted claim was paid within days, they were great! It gave me tremendous comfort knowing I had it in place when my 3yo Great Dane bloated and required life saving surgery. There was no question, just do it! Pets Best did not question the claim, and covered everything I was expecting to be reimbursed for. However, this time it took a month to get a response on my claim. That too is ok, but when speaking with reps regarding the claim, and at what point in the process we were proved difficult. I'd honestly say it's 4.5 to 4.75 star, because it does pay claims as expected, but slower than they indicate. I will never let my pets go uninsured.

Absolutely amazing! Super easy to file claims. Coverage is amazing, literally have saved me thousands of dollars, 1 freak accident with our puppy would have cost us over $6,000 without this insurance. Could not recommend them enough! A+

Pets Best Pet Health Insurance's…
Pets Best Pet Health Insurance's coverage is terrible. I'm only with them because of of the breeder I got the cat from pre-paid it. I've submitted numerous claims, and, only one of them was covered. Also, they take forever to process the claim.
