20% premium increase.
We have two young healthy cats with Trupanion. After one gear Cat 1 got a premium increase of 8% and Cat 2 got hit with an increase of 20%! This is ridiculous and there's absolutely no reasoning behind these numbers. We have never file a claim with Trupanion. So before you purchase insurance make sure you ask them in written how the premiums will increase over time, if they have a formula you should know it so that you can fairly estimate the cost. We are shopping around to switch, or maybe just abandon insurance altogether and just put some money on the side every month for the cats.

We love our AKC Insurance
We love our AKC Insurance. Luckily we made the wise choice to buy insurance for our sweet boy when he was a tiny puppy. He is 6 now and every experience that we've had in filing claims with AKC Insurance has need excellent. Filing a claim with them is incredibly easy and we have always heard back from them within 24 hours. With the escalating costs of veterinary services, I don't know what we would do without it. Horrible company would not recommend
Horrible company would not recommend. My first claim, which was not enough enough to have met the deductible l was denied on unsubstantiated grounds. My dog was seen for inverted sneezing and a potential nasal polyp. His claim was denied on the basis that I had brought him in for an annual check up several months prior and mentioned that season shedding had seemed to make him itchy than normal. These are two very unrelated conditions.
