She had a UTI and the ease of Trupanion covering the bill.
Love the service but wasn't ready for the big jump in premium
I have truly liked using Trupanion as the service has been solid, you are not locked into any type of long term contract and you do have some flexibility in areas such as setting deductibles. We have used them for a while for our three dogs and were hoping to do so for many years to come. We have also had no major claims and were hoping that because of this our cost would remain the same. That being said two months ago our rates jumped up over 30% to an annual cost of over $2,600/year, an increase of over $600 year. Our dogs are still young so the obvious concern is how often will this happen in the future as they age. They offer a great service and are very responsive but understand your rates can jump significantly in a given year which can unfortunately place you in a situation like ours where we need to look at alternatives.

Deceptive policy - Horrible experience - Please look elsewhere for pet insurance!
Our Dog Aldo has been covered by Trupanion insurance since 2021. He has suffered a few injuries and illnesses since that time and Trupanion has paid us nothing even though we exceeded what we thought was our $700 annual deductible. The biggest issue lies in the fact that apparently each type of illness or injury applies to a unique deductible. Be careful and read the fine print in the policy!!! Also, To make matters more frustrating, Trupanion recently sent us a notification of a 40% price increase on our monthly payment days after we submitted a claim that put us close to meeting our deductible for an injury that Aldo suffered. I would be very skeptical of all of the four and five star reviews here on trustpilot. Best of luck to all of the animal lovers out there who are doing their best to care for their pets. There must be better options out there.

Horrible customer service.
Horrible customer service. They don't uphold what they advertise online. They throw an exorbitant fee for free medical records. In our case, the records have been 4 times, and they say it's not enough. Bait and hook. Typical insurance company trying to avoid paying.

For the first couple years they were GREAT,
For the first couple years, i really liked having them as my cats health insurance. they were always prompt and kind and claims took about 48 hours to maybe a week. The past couple times however, have reached into the month section of processing claims and there hasn't been updates and when I call in, nobody seems to know anything. I send emails, and I get generic responses back. Im told someone is on it, and then don't hear from them for weeks. Their customer service has gone down greatly. I am hoping a third time is much better and these are just flukes.
