healthy paws will price you out of the market as your pet gets older. They will take your premiums when the likelihood of needing to file a claim is less and when your dog ages they will raise premiums astronomically until most people have to drop it. It's really strange how healthypaws has all these great reviews on this site but on the Better Business Bureau site they are a 2.75/5 with a lot of one star reviews!

The Claim System Needs to be Fixed
I filed a claim electronically twice and sent the information by certified mail to the Pets Best. They informed me many times the information that was sent is illegible. The veterinarian had rewritten the invoices twice, and I still get emails saying the documents are illegible. I have spoken to many customer service representative and they basically tell me the same thing as the emails. The company needs to fix their system. Why can't a simple form be filled out by the veterinarian and sent to Best Pets, along with the other information they require? The invoices that are submitted, are clearly printed and have what services were provided. The SOAP notes of the doctor explain why the services were provided. Pets Best is asking for the invoices to be rewritten, not the SOAP notes done by the doctor. Why do they ask for the doctor's SOAP notes if they are not reading them. If they were using the SOAP notes, the invoices would not have to be rewritten. This claim has been in process for several months. I had the same experience with my last claim. It's like pulling teeth trying to file a claim. Why have insurance if you have to jump through hoops to file a claim. I have been holding off submitting other claims until I resolve this issue. As of today, I need to have the veterinarian rewrite two of the invoices again. If I could give a negative number of stars, I would

The app is very easy to use
The app is very easy to use . I wrote an explanation of why the bill was paid the way it was . Easily posted the pictures of the bill and the payment on the app . The turn around on reimbursement is always very quick and accurate !! I had never done pet insurance before , I really researched and I could not be happier with pets best !

Get the preventive care
I really appreciate their quick claims. Usually doesn't take more than a week, and have never had them take more than 2. Would highly suggest the preventive care option, it didn't cost me much more and is really useful when I go to the vet for checkups and they find things.

PetsBest Cheap but not worth it.
Submitted my first complex claim for my dog. It’s been over a month and it’s still processing. When I called and asked for an update I was told that it could take up to 42 postal days. Also diagnostics recommended by our veterinarian were disqualified as eligible because they were considered elective. I’m switching to Trupanion after my claim is processed. Pets Best lures you in with their low monthly payments. Never again and I work in the veterinary field as an RVT.
