I have had this pet insurance for…
I have had this pet insurance for months and paid the premium on time. However, first time I submitted a claim they kept sending notices "I am sorry in the delay of your claim but it is under review". I finally canceled the policy. Very poor service!

Invaluable working dog. had been considering pet insurance…
I had been considering pet insurance for my Livestock Guardian Dog. My horses have been very kind to refrain from hurting her as she moves around them. 2 days ago, her and the horse were playing and they both miscalculated. Lacie barely got tagged by a kick. A small mark above and below her eye was the extent of the damage, but it could have been drastic. The dog is immensely valuable to us and time consuming if not impossible to replace her. The sign up, even on my phone was easy. It's comforting to know that in an emergency, I can properly care for her needs. I picked the highest rated insurance I found. I hope ya all live up to your rating if I ever need the help.

Trupanion makes it extremely difficult…
Trupanion makes it extremely difficult for different vet visits to be linked under the same condition. By setting the "same condition" criteria bar unrealistically high, they avoid paying out claims that they should be paying. I only chose them since their rates are relatively low, but as a customer I feel cheated by them and would not recommend them unless needing catastrophic coverage only.

Starts out great, then "wham!" -- they jack the rates up by 30 - 40% annually even if you never use the policy
I had this insurance for one year. I was able to benefit from some signup discounts. I enrolled my dog at 11 weeks of age. He was healthy and I submitted zero claims for accident/illness over the year. The wellness plan is basically a holding account; you pay a certain amount that they hold for you and give you your own money back for qualifying wellness expenses as you incur and submit "claims" (it functions like an HSA, Health Savings Account). When it came time to renew my policy, despite the fact that I submitted zero claims for accident or illness, they told me that I could expect a 30 - 40% increase in the cost of coverage EVERY YEAR, regardless of whether or not I use the policy. They embrace your money, and keep on squeezing. While rising costs is an issue for all types of insurers, some carriers do not systematically raise rates annually (and by such a whopping percentage that is way higher than the rate of inflation). Some offer discounts and incentives if you wind up not using the policy. I'm going to try somebody else who won't squeeze me like a boa constrictor.
