Affordable, easy to use, and excellent coverage!
Affordable, easy to use, and has covered needed puppy procedures. I appreciated the ability to customize a policy for the coverages and costs I was looking for. We have 2 puppies (one is now 2 years old and the other is turning 3) that we've purchased insurance through Spot for. We purchased only the accident / illness policies, not the wellness and also opted for higher deductibles to keep down the cost of the policies. The younger puppy has needed a few surgeries related to his eyes that was unforeseen; however, the surgeries helped alleviate the problems and the insurance greatly enhanced our ability to afford the procedures. The app and the claims process were very easy to use. I highly recommend taking a look at Spot if you don't have insurance for your pet.

The swiftness that the claim was reviewed and completed. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially with the claims being sent in on a Friday. The appt ended up being more expensive than expected, so I was hoping it would be a fast turn around and it was!!

Premium Increases Are Insane
I have had ASPCA insurance for my cat for several years. I have no complaints whatsoever with their claims processing or customer service. I have had to appeal a couple of claims and have had a positive outcome. However, the annual increases in policy costs are absolutely unconscionable and the explanations for the increases are generalized and not sufficiently supported. My premium increase 30% last year and this year will increase an additional 50%! There is no reasonable justification for such increases year after year, except that they can get away with it. If your pet has preexisting conditions, they will not be covered by another company. The only option the policyholder has to mitigate the cost is to reduce coverage in some way. Hardly a customer-friendly policy.

The buying experience is not user friendly
The buying experience is not user friendly. Why isn't it clear when policies take effect? Why isn't a physical policy sent to my home? Where are the instructions on how to get payouts?
