The process was quick and easy howevee

The process was quick and easy. Claim was paid fast. However it was an ER call and out of $900 only $6.72 was paid. I knew we had a deductible before claims were paid at 70%. But the office charge was denied....can't avoid an office charge when dog needs stitches. So I pay $36 month and I j feel things were left out when i started this. I still havent heard anything about other bills I submitted.

Recommend

I highly recommend buying Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for your pets. First of all, you should always buy pet insurance, especially for a first-time parent like me, and it is never too early! You can rule out more pre-existing conditions. Also, even a young pet can get unexpected diseases. My cat Felix got diagnosed with cancer even though he is only 5 yo. Without my insurance, I could hardly afford the diagnosis procedure (lab test, blood work, etc.), let alone any treatment plan. But since I have the insurance, I can work with my vet to have some treatments for Felix to help him feel better, and seek help from more expensive specialists, without worrying too much about the financial impact. Second, from my personal experience, Healthy Paws Insurance feels pretty decent. The premium is not that expensive (at least for young pets, my cat was still young so I don't know how it will turn out for more senior pets) in my case. I didn't set a super low deductible though, you might need to pay more if you want a lower deductible, but I feel good with mine. It covers the diagnosis and treatment of almost every disease, as long as it is not a pre-existing condition. I know it doesn't cover any dental treatment, which I do feel kind of disappointing. But I don't know if there is anyone in the market who covers it so I am fine with it. It doesn't cover the office visit fee or consultation fee, which is a bummer, as I live in a place where the office visit fee is quite expensive. For the pre-existing condition, I don't think you should turn around if your pet already has any condition (unless it is lethal), because it can still have you covered in other situations. And one tip, if you plan to buy the insurance and your pet is healthy without any medical record, take it for examination as soon as possible to rule out any pre-existing conditions. The reimbursement process is also very quick in Healthy Paws. I usually get my reimbursement 2~3 days after I file the claim, and it is pretty smooth. And I like the fact that they don't have any cap for the reimbursement. Some diseases can get very expensive. I remember when I quoted all the companies, there are quite some that have a maximum reimbursement amount (yearly or lifetime). Some have adjustable caps based on the premium. And I would say those caps are usually too low for situations like accidents and cancers. Maybe it is because of where I live, but still, I feel it is very easy to exceed the cap in quite common situations. Therefore, I would recommend buying Healthy Paws Pet Insurance because of my experience and the fact that I believe it is a necessity to buy pet insurance. I hope my experience can help you make the correct decision.
