Who says an insurance company can’t be great?
This company has been so great from the get go. All of the staff I have ever worked with has been incredibly helpful and pleasant from assisting with enrollment to claims processing to any questions in between. Claims are always processed incredibly promptly. I referred a friend and she has told me how equally pleased she has been. Would recommend to anyone with a pet who is interested in pet insurance.

I signed up my less than 1 year old…
I signed up my less than 1 year old goldendoodle for trupanion and, unfortunately, 3 weeks later I was rear ended at an extremely high rate of speed. My dog and I sustained injuries and I took my dog to the vet to get checked out for an issue with her right leg that happened as a result of the accident. Trupanion denied my claim saying that I had not reached the 30 day period since sign up and that her trauma in her right leg is pre-existing and will not be covered in the future. Dishonest, dishonest, dishonest. Make sure if you sign up for trupanion, you shelter your dog for 30 days so no accidents happen.. haha what a joke. You are calling an injury sustained from a car accident, a pre-existing condition??? No compassion for your pet, they are another insurance company that only cares about $$$. Stay away & find a different insurance company.

One of the worst companies to deal with. They are almost as bad as at&t. Very slow and it's almost like they are trying to out wait you on claims ,so that you will just give up.

Not as I expected when I signed up
I wasn't expecting the preventative limits to be so low. Bordetella allowed is only $8. That's pretty low. The exam allowable limit is only $50. No one has exams for that. I was just expecting something more considering the additional premium for the coverage. It was my understanding that the coverage was 100% for preventative and 90% for the rest of the policy. But now I see it's not that way. I think of like to cancel the policy and go with a more expensive policy like trupanion that actually covers the total price of the invoice at the deductible rate advertised.

Benefits under each plan are unclear. I thought I had signed up for full dental coverage but then I got a $1000 bill. I don't know what I am paying for. Probably going to move to another company.

So far I’m pleased w/ Pets Best Ins. The woman I spoke w/ in Customer Service (I didn’t get her name) was very nice & very helpful. Unfortunately, my wonderful cat, Little Kitty, got sick & died & Pets Best paid all her bills. The reason I gave them 4 stars & not 5 is because they took forever to reimburse me.
