After going through an emergency…Best Decision We Ever Made!!!
After going through an emergency situation with our previous boy and running up the credit cards to save his life, but also facing the financial situation when we should have been 100% handling our emotional situation and not having to think financial, we went with Trupanion with our next two, and so happy we did! Vets can direct bill and within mins of bill being submitted, I receive a text giving me the amount Trupanion is covering. I just had an emergency yesterday with my boy, never thought twice about costs and affordability, had all necessary tests done, Trupanion covered almost half, and we only had to cover less than $1000, including our deductible, and I could 100% focus on his wellbeing and getting him through his situation and healing. So grateful to Trupanion and their caring and fast service!

I have 4 cats and pay for my daughter's 2 dogs. The monthly premium is about $200. I have a senior Cat who is not insured due to his age. He was 8yrs. when he had cancer surgery just above his eye. That was insured. He now has kidney disease that is treated with a prescription diet. To diagnose this, a blood panel was required. That invoice was $1500. His treatment is prescription food. He has been given 3 years. In my own deceased 2 dogs, one had diabetes, requiring insulin and both had chronic bowel inflammation that required prescription food and they both had recurring eye injuries. One had knee surgery on each leg. I remember that was three to four thousand. They were both insured. The co-insurance was 20% and the deductible was $100. I paid approximately $80 per month for both. Now I have 3 cats' premiums. Now deductibles start at $200. My daughter's dog is allergic to chicken, and the other's liver requires prescription food temporarily. He just became blind. I have probably missed something. I had other cats that were euthanized due to extreme illness even though they were insured. However, they were diagnosed and had surgery. Our insurer also covered euthanism costs. My husband and I loved them all and it is painful to lose a pet but we never let them die because we couldn't afford to treat them. You must consider when you adopt an animal that you will require insuring them. Don't think that your animal will never be sick. You are gambling with their life. And reconsider having multiple pets. An average premium can be $45/month.
Thank you. The appeal was accepted.
I have talked to 3 different agents 3 separate times and each one has been extremely helpful. I shouldn't have to mention this but the best part is that I can talk to a native English speaking person who is not reading from a script. My claim was originally denied because the condition did look as though it might be a preexisting condition. I submitted an appeal and my claim was accepted as a new condition. The payout was significant.Thank you so much! I love my dog and I don't want to have to make healthcare decisions based on whether I can afford the care or not.

Boomer's Future
His knowledge of the insurance was extensive and gave reassurance of future need and did not rush me thru the experience. Thank-you for being so patient with me.

Love my insurance provider
Nationwide is excellent. I have used them for years. Easy to submit claims and direct deposit.
denies claims
I have had trouble being reimbursed for anything and everything. They consider an ear infection a preexisting condition. They have denied everything I have sent in.

One Less Thing To Worry About
When your loved one, in this case, your dog is sick, you have so many things to worry about. One of them may probably be affordability. MetLife Pet Insurance is great! Customer service is helpful with all my questions. They work with your Vet Office to get all the necessary paperwork to process your claim.

Absolute delight
Jemma May is my 10th dog. She is the first pet who has had Pet insurance and I believed her to be the healthiest of any dog, little Jemma May, like me, is getting old. So I decided to buy the insurance plan. BEST THINK I COULD HAVE DONE FOR HER. I am absolutely delighted by how the clinic staff deal with everything and to the quick reply from Trumpania office staff.
