Reliable but Not Timely
Pets Best has been my insurance for over 3 years now. I really like the ease of uploading claims/forms. I also like that there's an easily accessible app for your phone which saves your pet's information and veterinary information. But, their app is often down or not working and the claims take months or more to process. Also, there are a lot of medications or preventative supplements that are not covered and wellness items are limited every year. Additionally, their monthly costs do go up quite often and I can not switch companies since my dog is older and now has preexisting conditions. Overall, my experiences have been pleasant but there are a few things that could use minor improvements.

Needed to contact them several times for questions about our new puppy. Very responsive and caring. Then puppy tore a ligament ? in her knee and had to have surgery. Spot was very prompt on paying the claim.

Always There Immediately!
Trupanion has become our lifesaver, a reliable best buddy, you name it. My dog Jack has recently had a slew of consecutive health issues that began with seizures late one night. Trupanion approves the claim then pays the hospital directly for their portion, without hesitation. No paperwork for you and no waiting for reimbursement. Don't be fooled thinking you can't afford pet insurance. As a fixed income, retiree, Trupanion's flexibility allows me to choose the cost of the deductible by what I can afford for a monthly premium. There is a plan for every budget.
