If I could give them less than one star I would
If I could give them less than one star, I would. I've used Trupanion for 9 years and have never had issues until the past few years when I started getting a lot of denials. At first it was dumb things that I could call and get corrected, like my dog's PT claim was denied because they said I didn't have the rider for it. I would call and they would approve it. Last year, my dog was attacked and they refused to pay because they said it was a pre-existing condition because she had been attacked by another dog 5 years prior. I was working with an individual who was trying to resolve the issue, and we found it was an error in the vet records. My vet corrected it, and now NO ONE at Trupanion will respond to me. This January, my new dog had over $8,000 over surgery for a torn cruciate ligament followed by an emergency bloat surgery 2 days later. She had an emergency vet visit 4 days later for severe pain. Trupanion denied these claims after over a month of waiting, and stated the reason was they did not have history from the vet clinics. Did they even bother to friggin call the clinics and ask? They didn't call me and ask me to contact the vets and get the histories either. On top of all of this, they raised the rate on this dog $20 this year, and $30 on my other dog this year. In the past, it's been a few dollars each year and no big deal, but $50 a month is ridiculous, especially when they pull this crap. Clearly this company has gone to deny, deny, deny. It's not worth it at all. I am in the process of switching all of my pets other than my first dog to Healthy Paws, and recommend to everyone to stay far far away from Trupanion as their service has gone so downhill I highly doubt they will ever climb back up.

We have 3 Frenchies all covered by…
We have 3 Frenchies all covered by Trupanion our oldest dog Sam has epilepsy without the coverage provided by Trupanion he wouldn’t be here today. We have had to take him into emergency animal hospitals more than once for cluster seizures his most recent stay for 2 days our bill was over $15,000 Trupanion always provides prior authorization promptly they always call us just to let us know not to worry about our bill we are covered then they ask us how sams doing it means a lot to have them be so caring thoughtful. Also they provide coverage for everything!!!! Our dogs prescription dog food , supplements, appointments with a specialist all covered. We are so grateful for the coverage & support they provide for our fur babies!!

Carcinoma surgery
Our English Setter was recently diagnosed with cancer and had to have surgery to remove an anal gland and lymph nodes. Went well and is recovering fine. Surgery was Monday, He returned home on Tuesday and I submitted the claim online with my Healthy Paws account. The claim was completed Wednesday and the deposit showed up on Thursday. Cannot get much better than that! Healthy Paws came thru without any hassle or issue, much quicker than I expected.
