We love spot!

We got spot shortly after rescuing our baby and have loved it. You can submit a claim at any time from anywhere by just snapping a couple of pictures. You can also look back over claims at any time which can be super helpful if you’re a bit forgetful like us. Spot removed a lot of the worry over affording vet visits for care he needs and with our preventative care plan helped us with all of his puppy visits. I think every pet needs health insurance just like their humans and it’s a worthwhile monthly expense, especially for us.

Title: Frustrating Claim Process: A Review of MetLife Pet Insurance

I recently enrolled in MetLife Pet Insurance with high hopes of providing comprehensive coverage for my furry friend. However, my experience with their claims process has been nothing short of disappointing. Initially, I was informed that claims would be processed within 5-10 days—a timeframe that seemed reasonable. However, what they failed to mention is that this duration applies strictly to business days. This lack of clarity led to unnecessary confusion and frustration on my part. Moreover, when attempting to file a claim for my pet, who hadn't required veterinary care in the past 12 months, I encountered another roadblock. MetLife requires a medical history spanning the previous year to process claims efficiently. This requirement was not clearly communicated beforehand, resulting in further delays. Upon contacting customer service to address this issue, I was met with little empathy or assistance. Instead, I was informed that an additional 3-5 business days would be required to process the claim under these circumstances. Consequently, what should have been a straightforward process has turned into a waiting game spanning nearly 30 days. Such inefficiency is unacceptable, especially in matters concerning the health and well-being of our beloved pets. Waiting for an extended period without clarity on the status of the claim is undeniably frustrating and stressful for any pet owner. In light of this experience, I have decided to discontinue my association with MetLife Pet Insurance. I cannot justify investing in a service that fails to deliver on its promises and lacks transparency in its operations. For those considering pet insurance, I strongly advise against choosing MetLife. Instead, I recommend exploring alternatives such as Nationwide Pet Insurance, known for its swift and uncomplicated claim process. Don't make the same mistake I did; opt for a provider that values efficiency and customer satisfaction. In conclusion, MetLife Pet Insurance's cumbersome claims process and lackluster customer service have left me deeply dissatisfied. Proceed with caution, as the frustration and regret may outweigh any potential benefits.

Stay away-Not the old Petplan insurance that they took over

Fetch took over or merged with the prior insurer. We researched about how the premiums would be as the dog aged before purchasing. Sine the takeover by Fetch the premiums are out of control. They have about tripled over the past 3 years from around 388 a year to 1300 a year for 10K in coverage with no claims (2years). The old company did not substantially raise the premiums as the dog aged. I would say to run for the hills when considering Fetch. I would not recommend this company to anyone because of their gotcha pricing as the dog gets older as opposed to the prior company that they took over PetPlan around 2019 and we are completely dissatisfied.
