Don't cover for all breeds!
I have an Australian Shepherd. Anyone who has owned this breed knows they are High Strung and anxious, oops don't say that word because Figo will use the owners words to decline your claim because it was pre-existing. At first they declined me because of a medication the vet gave for keeping him calm after surgery and said it was used for another reason. Vet wrote them a letter saying that was not correct. Then they declined because of a note of a word I used. I am not a vet and it was a word I would use on any Aussie. I told them they should not insure a breed that they do not understand or intend on ever covering a claim. They will look for any reason to not accept your claim. I will appeal again but low expectations. I will be pulling my three pets out of Figo and going to another insurance company. Waste of money!!! I reached out Figo support many times on the phone and via email. The last they claim that because I was quoted in vet notes as using the word anxious, could have been afraid, that I diagnosed my dog with anxiety. Even though my prior vet sent a letter stating he was not diagnosed with anxiety. Figo claims I diagnosed him and that word counts as pre-existing condition. When talking with your vet ask them not to quote you in their notes and be careful with your words, they will be used against you! Going on second appeal.

This company will find every reason to…
This company will find every reason to deny your claim. I had to contact them 4 times to get them to see where they had made a mistake. I responded to their reasoning in messages and they sent me the exact same reasoning each time. It was like they didn’t even read what I said. It took me calling and being sent to the adjuster’s voicemail to actually get in contact. The adjuster sis not call me back, but emailed me with the SAME response. I immediately responded and told them they needed to call me. We set a time, they were late, I emailed again and immediately got a call. The adjuster had gone to her higher ups and they pointed out what she missed. This has been ongoing for a month. I am cancelling my insurance with them due to the crappy customer service. Their plan isn’t even that great. I’m going back to Nationwide. I never had problems with them.

Amazing experience with Healthy Paws!
Our fur babies have been covered by Healthy Paws for about four years. Fortunately, we have not had to make many claims up until last month. Our healthy, 8-year-old cocker spaniel was running around in the backyard like she always does and suddenly started limping. After a few vet visits, she was diagnosed with a tear in her leg. It was heart breaking to watch her hobble around in pain, so we knew she needed surgery. It is stressful to think about your pet needing surgery and it's extremely stressful to hear how much the surgery and all of the veterinary visits will cost. Healthy Paws helped to alleviate the financial burden and financial stress of our baby getting surgery so we could focus solely on getting our fur baby better. Their customer service was always responsive and helpful when I needed to submit claims for our pup online. Their website is very user friendly and I'm able to upload medical records, invoices, and claims with ease. Their customer service even sent multiple emails after our pup had surgery to check and see how she was feeling! Even though I initially purchased the insurance for the peace of mind, I can confidently say that I highly recommend insuring your pets with Healthy Paws. I don't know what we would have done without them, and I am so happy that we made the decision to have our fur babies insured by Healthy Paws.

Good luck getting a reimbursement in a reasonable amount of time, if at all.
I submitted a claim for a month before this review. It took them 10 days to ask for more info only after I called them. After another 10 days, I called again and they needed more paperwork. In both cases, I sent the paperwork the same day. I am now at 30 days without resolution and another phone call was a waste of time. The customer service people are friendly and helpful, as much as they can, but the online chat never works. I wish I had never left Nationwide, they paid promptly.
