I had my dog at the vet recently and was speaking to other clients. It was then that I realized what lousy coverage SPOT actually has. I pay nearly $200 per month and the annual coverage is less than 5K. Those with Lemonade and other insurances, pay less than $100 and have coverage up to $50K. Something is wrong here.

Monthly rate increase 48%!!!!
Pumpkin has been a pretty good insure for our pet up until this last month. Monthly bill increased from from approximately $72 to 105. This is a 48% increase in rate. When I call and spoke to a pumpkin representative, they tried to say that the state of California is forcing them to do this. However, the new law gives him the option to increase the amount between 7 and 56%. Pumpkin is the one choosing to gouge their customers. Actively looking for another pet insurance company.

Not worth the money
I have had this pet insurance for my pets life. My pet has a bad hip. He needed surgery so I had the surgery done. I placed the claim the claim was denied. They said it was a pre-existing condition because when I got the insurance I did not have it for 14 days and I placed a claim to have the surgery done. I waited over a year. He just had the surgery done. I replaced the Claim again. They denied my claim. I am very disappointed with this company and I would not recommend this insurance company. Also, I had talked to a customer representative over a year ago and they told me even if it was considered pre-existing, they would pay for it if I had the insurance for over so many months.

I did not sign up for the service. I checked the decline box and got charged anyways! However, customer service was helpful.
