Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service; unfriendly and really not straightforward when my cat got sick - 0 help for anyone over the phone to link 2 claims for the same condition. Clinic / hospital submitted final invoice and Trupanion does not recognise / link. I am paying +$2k in addition to all other costs I am covering.

Deductible Process Purposefully Vague/Limiting
Put in over $6000 in monthly payments and every time I submit a claim for the same exact issue (my dog has pruritis and required surgery) it gets added as a 'new condition' and thus never hitting their $1000 deductible per condition. I had to appeal twice and essentially beg a customer service agent to get $200 back on a surgery for the condition. The claim process basically has you submit receipts from the vet and then you have space for 1-2 sentence explanation. If the reviewers disagree, the claim is denied citing a lack of evidence. What a ridiculous scam. The last one I had was my dog had an infection after the surgery, directly relating to the surgery, but it's not related to the surgery according to Trupanion. The vet explicitly had us do tests because of the recent surgery. THEY DO DEDUCTIBLES LIKE THIS FOR A REASON.

I’ve been using Met Life for my cat’s coverage, and I’m genuinely impressed.
