Favorite Pet Insurance, Wonderful Employees

We've had insurance for our pup since we first got her. Her breeder set her up originally and then moved the information to us when we got her. Originally, she was put on a Lifetime Limit for her allergy shots.. and once we hit that limit, we were told even if we updated the coverage.. that since we hit the limit for that specifically, it would no longer be covered. We stayed on the insurance because, compared to others, it covered a lot. After a while, the premium went up and we worried that we were paying more than we were getting back, and it wasn't very worth it. Our pup had to get allergy shots every month which was close to $150 each time (because she's a GSD), and since it wasn't being covered anymore... it was a lot for us. Our dog visits the vet pretty often due to bad allergies and the occasional extra things. It really adds up. Today, I spoke with a representative named Kat and explained our situation. Getting the allergy shots covered was priority since no other insurance would cover (due to it being a Preexisting Condition). Kat understood and walked me through their contract and a workaround in order to have the shots covered again. They were extremely patient and understanding. I was also recommended some small changes to help save money but still get the best coverage considering the current issues we've been facing. It involved getting a new policy entirely which, yes, there's a waiting period before certain stuff can be covered, but we think it's overall worth it in the long run. We also managed to save money compared to what we originally had. All in all, I really love AKC. Everyone I've spoken with in the business has been wonderful, and I'd highly recommend calling if people are interested in the plan.

Waiting and waiting...

$5,000 out and I'm still waiting. I'll edit this review if circumstances change. I uploaded my invoice and my vet sent the detailed medical history. I know, because I was cc-ed on the email. Whenever I check the status it says there are missing documents. I reached out and a CS person returned my email saying that everything is okay. However, I just went to the website and I still get the prompt that there are missing documents.

Lack of communication and time it is taking

My claim has sat in limbo for 30 days and not until I called did they tell me that I needed to send more things in. My vet sent all records in 10 days ago and it was not until I called that it was attached to my account. Then I was also informed verbally (nothing written on the account or requested from my vet) that additional pictures of the invoice were needed. I am a vet and recommend this insurance all the time, feeling very frustrated by the lack of communication and time this is taking. I will be thinking twice about recommending this again. UPDATE: They have now declined to cover one of my claims due to lack of information. This has now been 3 times sitting on hold and dealing with customer service for 30 minutes and being told I am all set, yet days later after I look into it realizing I am not all set. I don't understand the lack of communication in all departments and will absolutely no longer be suggesting this insurance.

I got off to a rough start with Embrace…

I got off to a rough start with Embrace when I put in a claim for my Dog “Koru” who was diagnosed with cancer in September. I was told that his condition was deemed pre-existing from a veterinary record they had back in January, and I immediately took to google and wrote a scathing review about how bad this company is. Once I’d calmed down and explored the options that Embrace offered me to appeal their decision, I had my Vet submit information stating that there’s no way Koru could’ve survived if the cancer had been there since January, and gone untreated. The decision was immediately overturned, and all claims were honoured promptly with auto pay directly to my account within a week of each submission. Unfortunately Koru lost his battle with cancer on 11/06/2023, but without the insurance I would’ve been out of pocket over $5000.00. Thank you for honouring your policy Embrace, and helping me get through this difficult time.

Great Customer Service and Fast Turn Around!

When looking for pet insurance, I was very thorough about finding the right fit for my 2 cats. I called each company and asked them several questions as I have a special case with my FIV+ cat. The only company that gave me straight answers that made sense and were honest was Figo. They actually care about giving your pet the best coverage at a price you can afford. I added on the basic wellness power up and used it for the first time two days ago and my claim was reviewed and closed in less than 5 minutes. My reimbursement was in my account in 48 hours. Figo is truly the best!

slow payment

Their coverage is good but the reimbursement time is slow and if you call them to get status on a claim all they say it could take 45 business days to finish claims. then once the claim is finished it another 5 days before its in your bank. but they know how to get your payment the day they need it

I wouldn’t of even given them a one…

I wouldn’t of even given them a one after what they did to me🤬 my policy started sept 30th I had to wait 14 days after! I took my dog to the vet on October 25th they asked me what was going on I was honest and said he was drinking a lot of water in September he was physically diagnosed October 25th for diabetes they claim that he has had a pre existing condition because I said he was drinking a lot of water I’m so upset I’m out 1200 dollars because I made a statement sucks to be honest don’t use them please don’t
