If it were possible to leave minus stars, I would. Claims NEVER processed timely even for very small amounts. They wait the 14 business days to process to then say that an invoice isn't legible or more info is needed from vet. Premiums continue to go higher with poorer coverage. Used to recommend Embrace to everyone. Would never buy a policy from them again. Total scam, terrible service. And I'd love to contact Embrace in response to its response, but I don't have 3 hours to wait on hold which is what happens. Just try speaking to Embrace unless its a sales person! They're fast to pick up calls to buy a policy and then will ignore you once you're paying a fortune for worthless insurance.

The claims are easy to file and are processed and paid promptly. On the one occasion I had to communicate via telephone, the lady to whom I spoke was delightful. She resolved the issue (that I created) and seemed genuinely concerned about my pet's wellbeing.

Unless you have an accident, Embrace doesn't cover it
They definitely go out of their way to assess a condition as "pre-existing"; for example, my dog was only recently diagnosed with a slightly enarged heart - they said because he was described as having a heart murmur in the past that the enlarged heart was the result of that. Kind of like saying, "His torn meniscus was caused by his pre-existing condtion of walking."

I have paid Trupanion over $200 a month…
I have paid Trupanion over $200 a month since 2018 for two dogs. I finally bring one dog to the ER and Trupanion paid a whopping $16 of the claim since an ER visit is considered an "examination" and is excluded. What a rip off. I am in tears thinking they won't actually ever help if needed.

Customer service was great!
My customer service experience was awesome. I got a policy for my puppy right after I got him, he’s now 10 months old and he broke his tooth. I called to clarify coverage before going through with his appointment with the dentist and customer service was knowledgeable, friendly, and fast to answer. I’ve been a vet tech for 8 years and know that pet insurance can be misunderstood. This is why it’s important to understand your coverage before you need to use it. Being able to get on the phone and quickly get an answer on my dog’s case before I approved/denied a treatment plan is so appreciated. Not always possible but when it is it’s definitely worth the time.
