Pre-existing condition? Go elsewhere.
Do not bother if your pet has ANY pre-existing condition. When I enrolled my cat, he had heart disease, but it was in the early stages and being managed with medication. My initial experiences with Trupanion were positive. However, two years ago they started increasing my premiums and denying all of my claims. They increased my premium by over 60% while denying every claim I submitted. When it came time to put my cat to sleep, they denied my claim to cover the euthanasia. Again, they stated that he had a pre-existing condition so even euthanasia would not be covered. I suppose if you get coverage for your pet the moment they are born, it will work out for you; but if there is anything in your pet's past they can point to as a pre-existing condition, then go somewhere else. I feel like I have just thrown my money away, and now my baby is gone.

Extremely easy claim submission
Submitting claims through the website is fast and easy. The longest part of the claims submission was entering the pet's information the first time, which was also easy even with a senior pet. I like that I don't have to enter my pet's full information every time.

Do not get this keep looking
I will be canceling my policy. This insurance is not worth it, especially if you have a pre-existing condition. They always claim any issue is linked to pre-existing conditions, no matter what proof you provide. I’ve sent multiple test results showing that my condition is unrelated to diabetes, but no one has responded, and they’ve even closed my cases. It’s been over a month since I submitted my claims, and the only communication I’ve received is the standard “your claim is denied due to pre-existing conditions.” They don’t respond to emails, and it feels like they don’t care at all. I strongly recommend going with a different provider, especially if you have any pre-existing health issues. I’ll be updating this review as I wait to see if they ever respond or review the paperwork properly
