Metlife Pet insurance

I analyzed at least 10 other insurance companies, and MetLife Pet insurance far exceeded the value of all other insurance companies. All of the companies had caps where is MetLife was a straight 90% (you can choose a less % for a lower premium) on all claims after your deductible has been met. It was a no-brainer.. MetLife makes the claims process seamless.

Does anyone even work there?

MetLife doesn't answer the phone and doesn't respond to form submissions or emails. I've been trying to change my address for months, which cannot be done on their website. Now I want to cancel my policy, which cannot be done on their website. I've tried calling at least 5 times, and have always been put on hold for at least 15 minutes with no pickup. Their chatbot is never functional. And no response to forms or emails. What a scam. I'm just glad I've never tried to make a claim - but I guess that's why they want my monthly fee and make it so hard to cancel.

Definitely recommend trupanion

Had some issues at first with our claims because of paperwork error. Once we discovered what was the problem trupanion worked quickly to resolve and paid Lulu's claims. Lulu now requires monthly vet visits for the rest of her life and quarterly visits to a eye specialist. It a great relief to know we can provide her with the care she needs with our partner trupanion. Trupanion is the real deal a tip just make sure you include all vets and clinics your pet has ever been to when submitting claims. Now that we have everything in order our claims are literally paid the next day. We will be forever grateful to trupanion for helping Lulu save her sight.

With the help of Good Vets, Pet's Best can save your dog's LIFE

Pet's Best provides the kind of financial support that can save your pet's life. It is my preferred provider that I recommend to families who adopt puppies from our kennel. I recommend what I call catastrophic coverage which has five key features, 1.) high deductible ($1,000,) 2.) good coverage after the deductible is met (90%,) 3.) does not cover exams (represents a small part of treating serious injuries and sicknesses,) 4.) No treatment limit (with today's vet bills $10K or $12K just doesn't cut it,) and finally 5.) affordable premiums ($400 to $500 per year.) For day to day care you do not need vet insurance because the final outcome of that process depends more on whether you actively control and improve the process rather than whether it is covered by an insurance company. Bear in mind that vet insurance companies do not negotiate rates with providers like human insurance companies do so you are not getting a special rate because you have insurance. The optimal value for daily vet visits comes from your critical evaluation of whether the vet is doing a good job for the money and from being trained by the vet to handle daily care yourself. You must train yourself to handle daily occurrences with your own resources otherwise you will be financing some vets retirement. Now days, life threatening canine injuries and sicknesses start at about $5,000 and go up. This is when your catastrophic Pet's Best policy kicks in and saves your pet's life. Bloat, CCL tear, cancer, untreated, are a fast or slow death for a dog. The CCL tear (ACL in humans) is debilitating and painful for the life of the dog, untreated. In the city, the corrective surgery, TPLO, costs about $6,000+ per knee. With catastrophic coverage you pay the deductible $1,111 (based on 90% of cost not 100%) and 10% of the rest plus exams or $623 for a total of $1734. With your deductible covered you might also be able to collect on previous and future treatments for the year. The surgery is very effect and after recovery your dog is back to normal in most cases. let suppose you pay for this catastrophic Pet's Best insurance for the 12 year life of a Bernese Mt Dog only to have the dog die quietly in sleep of a heart disease at age 12 with no other serious medical incidents. You've paid $6,000 over the 12 year life of dog an never had to use it. Is that a bad deal? NO!!! If you could guarantee to me that you could sell me that Bernese Mt Dog that would live 12 years without any catastrophic disease then I would gladly pay you $10,000 for it. The problem is that nobody can make that guarantee so all we have left to protect ourselves is catastrophic Pet's Best Insurance. I never want to use it but I have it and I will use it in order to save the life of my dog.

got nothing for all I paid

After paying my $50.00 premium for months I took my dog into vet. She was treated and the bill was $632.55. I had a $500 deductible and 80% return. I was expecting the $500 would come off leaving me 80% of $132.55. They took the 20% leaving $506.51 Then they took the $500 so they now owe me $6.04. Less than 1%. If they were honest they would have taken the $500 from the bill and the 20% from the remaining 132.00

A worthy benefit

I have two precious four-legged babies that have their fair share of health challenges. My Pomeranian was diagnosed with pancreatic disease and my Shepherd has severe allergies. Nationwide insurance was an benefit option through my company that provides employees with some discount in pricing. I have top of the line coverage of 90% reimbursement with a annual $250 deductible. Nationwide is very timely and fair in working with the veterinarian on any diagnosis and providing my reimbursements without any disputes or delays. Like most pet insurance, as long as your furry baby did not have a preexisting condition before taking out the insurance, the plan I have covers a lot of insurance benefits. I gave it a 4 star overall due to the pricing. Due to my furry babies turning 10 in 2024, my annual amounts increased drastically which was a culture shock to my wallet.

Penelope Insurance

I have 4 cats and pay for my daughter's 2 dogs. The monthly premium is about $200. I have a senior Cat who is not insured due to his age. He was 8yrs. when he had cancer surgery just above his eye. That was insured. He now has kidney disease that is treated with a prescription diet. To diagnose this, a blood panel was required. That invoice was $1500. His treatment is prescription food. He has been given 3 years. In my own deceased 2 dogs, one had diabetes, requiring insulin and both had chronic bowel inflammation that required prescription food and they both had recurring eye injuries. One had knee surgery on each leg. I remember that was three to four thousand. They were both insured. The co-insurance was 20% and the deductible was $100. I paid approximately $80 per month for both. Now I have 3 cats' premiums. Now deductibles start at $200. My daughter's dog is allergic to chicken, and the other's liver requires prescription food temporarily. He just became blind. I have probably missed something. I had other cats that were euthanized due to extreme illness even though they were insured. However, they were diagnosed and had surgery. Our insurer also covered euthanism costs. My husband and I loved them all and it is painful to lose a pet but we never let them die because we couldn't afford to treat them. You must consider when you adopt an animal that you will require insuring them. Don't think that your animal will never be sick. You are gambling with their life. And reconsider having multiple pets. An average premium can be $45/month.

denies claims

I have had trouble being reimbursed for anything and everything. They consider an ear infection a preexisting condition. They have denied everything I have sent in.
