prepaid item not paid-have to read the code!
A prepaid fecal test was not reimbursed. I read the code and called about it to find I had to submit the results when the test was done. I think a better job could be done to inform your clients of the required additional information you require for reimbursement in this situation.

The good and the bad
The good: super easy claims process and quick payment. The bad: be REALLY careful that you know everything about your pet's medical history before signing up. I didn't know that when my dog had a tooth pulled, the vet found a small growth called an epuli (it's a common, benign growth in dog's mouths). Embrace saw that in my dog's medical records from over a year prior, and said that without a biopsy to confirm it was benign, they'd consider ALL growths, including cancer, a pre-existing condition. I obviously could not get a biopsy on something removed over a year ago. I canceled and got a pro-rated refund for the rest of the policy because it just didn't seem worth it to have such a large exclusion.

Glad I Chose ASPCA
Pet insurance wasn’t available when we first had pets, then I wasn’t sure if it was necessary. We just rescued a dog and felt it was time. I’m very pleased I chose ASPCA pet insurance. It was simple to sign up, then submit my first vet bill, and within days notification of payment to my bank account!! Don’t hesitate if you’re on the fence.

Figo
Figo, the king of insurance Gaslighting. They first tire you out by making you jump through hoops, then make you happy, then not pay, then ghost you, then more hoops, then deny your claim on any technicality they can find. Then deny your appeal because you had a legitimate claim. Because they know that you won’t sue them. Psychopaths. Despite my initial enthusiasm and hope, they have proven to be unreliable and untrustworthy as an insurance provider. Here’s a rundown of the issues I’ve encountered: 1. After filing a claim, it was closed without explanation, leaving me waiting for payment for 14 days. 2. Upon contacting them, I was kept on hold for 27 minutes only to be told they needed more information, which they allegedly already communicated to my vet. However, my vet confirmed they received no such notification. 3. When I followed up with Figo, I was informed their app was down and that they would now process the claim. 4. Despite their assurances, I was then bombarded with paperwork and additional tasks for my vet. 5. After more back-and-forth, I received a claim closed email with a broken link and no information in the Figo app. 6. Upon calling again, I was told my plan didn’t cover the incident because it fell outside a 14-day grace period for illnesses, being day 13, and that the day I signed up was not the day they started my plan. Even though it was an injury, not an illness. They then cited a bizarre 6-month grace period for skeletal injuries, leaving me baffled and frustrated. I had signed up for their highest-tiered plan at $57 a month for my recently rescued Chihuahua, only to be met with disappointment and a sense of being scammed. This experience has left me questioning the legitimacy of their services and I am requesting, at the very least, a refund of my initial premium payment.
