Flea & tick med claim took 27 days to process
My most recent claim was for my dog’s usual flea & tick medication. It was not a new medication. While waiting for the claim to be processed, I received not 1 but 3 emails apologizing that it was taking so long (this auto email is not new). I then called (was on hold for 48 minutes) on day 26 and asked what was taking so long for a standard wellness claim. I was told wellness claims can take up to 45 business days to be processed. 2 days after my call the claim was paid. But who wants to spend 2+ hours to settle an insurance claim for their pet when there are other pet insurers paying claims within 3-5 days of filing the claim?? Time to shop for a new insurer.
