I was going to cancel my Trupanion…

I was going to cancel my Trupanion cover for my dog Duncan. He has seasonal allergies that are quite expensive. I did not think they covered the allergies. When I called Trupanion they informed me that they do indeed cover these expensives and in fact told me to submit past expensives. I was overjoyed and elated and would recommend Trupanion to all my friends. After telling my Vet of my experience they recommend Trupanion to all their clients. Also submitting claims is quick and easy. Thank you Trupanion.

New Pet Owners: Look elsewhere.

I pay $140 a month for Trupanion. I’ve had Trupanion for four years, though my payment started at $73. In my estimates, I’ve paid $2,500 in insurance. This was for a new puppy with no serious issues, as I really only used it for the spay when she was a puppy. I had a good peace of mind, as Trupanion had decent reviews and if my dog ever had accidents, surely I’d be covered. How wrong I was. In the past two months, my dog has had 3 issues: a pad wound obtained during a camping trip, a rash on her tummy, and a bite on her tail. The pad wound was first. Get the bill for $510.29 from my awesome vet, and I think “Trupanion will cover some of this I bet!” They covered $10. I asked why, and they took away the vax stuff as that’s not covered (fair), and after that, they said they would cover anything after the $200 deductible, which I met. I was peeved, but at least I had peace of mind that next time my dog would be covered! And so issue 2 comes around: bite on tail. $268. About a month after issue 1. NO vaxxes this time - purely incident related. What’d Trupanion cover? $0. I asked them why in chat: “An injury on her paw and one on her tail are caused by different incidents and would be considered different conditions. Since they are different conditions, they would have different deductibles to meat.“ (yes, she misspelled “meet.” Issue 3 is currently in review, but with the policy above I think we all know what’s gonna happen. “This is a new condition. Go f*** yourself.” I’m a new pet owner and a young person who didn’t totally understand insurance, and feel like I was absolutely shafted by this company. Everyone I talk to is stunned at the monthly I pay, and they all have one response when I tell them how after $2,500 and $700 in payments in accidents, I only got $10 back: Predatory.

Just another Crappy Insurance Company

As others have stated, they're happy to take your money, but when your pet has a medical issue, they will deny deny deny your claim. They will do so even after you have provided them with all the documentation required. They'll demand additional info and/or verification that they know you will not be able to provide. Embrace is just another duplicitous greedy self-serving insurance company that prays on your unparalleled love for your pet. Unfortunately, pet insurance is a bill of goods. A complete rip off.

We already had an insurance policy on…

We already had an insurance policy on one of our dogs but to add one I had to call rather than set-up online. When I called the representative was extremely helpful, very kind and efficient.

Total Scam

Sent in a Claim with all the SOAP NOTES and Receipts from Vet and they Claim everything was Blurry and they could not read Charges or Dates of Service. So I Wrote down the Dates and Charges showing a Breakdown of everything and they Claim once you file a Claim and if they do not receive the correct paperwork in a Timely Manner the Claim will be Denied. As I said All SOAP NOTES AND RECEIPTS WERE sent as well as a Handwritten Breakdown of all SERVICES RENDERED for my puppy and I Kept getting a Response that Everything was Blurry. Total Scam. And after this First Experience I Canceled their Service.

Don’t swap

I just swapped to this company from pets best. After explaining that an appointment for a dog was a follow up with no symptoms…they’re still not wanting to cover a claim. So now things that would’ve been covered for my dogs (allergies, etc…) are no longer covered. Don’t swap…customer service won’t call you back if you leave a voicemail. Not the company that is worried about your fur babies
