Poor accounting practices

They get a 2 star only because the representative was polite and seemed to try her best to help me. I have had 6 claims, all of which were supposedly at least partially reimbursed. Having been about 1 month since the last claim submission, I called them because I have never received the "deposited" money. The representative provided me with the last 4 digits of a bank account number. This number was not even close to any account I have. Even if I had transposed a number, it wasn't even close. They had no other information. All they could do was provide tracking ID's and told me I would have to call the bank and provide those number to them to trace the deposits. I am not sure how the bank is supposed to do that, especially if the number provided was not one of their account numbers. I had to contact Embrace again because the bank not only had to have the ID's, but associated amounts and dates to help with the search. Embrace claims that either myself or another person with access to my account put those numbers into my Embrace for direct deposit. Since the two fields are "Account Number" and "Routing Number", I know that I don't have those memorized so I would have to be looking at my physical checks to provide that information. I cannot conceive how I would have entered incorrectly, especially since I usually double or triple check when entering items such as account information. So, I am just waiting to hear back from my bank in the hops they find something. If they do, the I have to send documented information to Embrace so that they can "possibly" get my money to me. Otherwise, I guess I am just out of luck. I will follow up here if I can after anything changes. The date of experience is for the phone contact, not the submission of claims.

Surgery refunded

Didn’t want to ever have to use it but my dog ate something she shouldn’t have and needed a foreign body surgery. Spot was easy to submit the claim and fast to approve it and send a check.

The vet recommended this company.....

The vet recommended this company for pet insurance and I felt that I would be a bad pet owner if I didn't get insurance for my dog breed that potentially could have health issues. Our first visit the vet said your dog breed has common breathing issues due to he Short snout and should think about the surgery in the future to prevent issues. I paid the insurance company for about a year and when we decided that we should do the surgery to prevent future issues, the claim was denied. I'm not sure how in the pockets of the vet hospital the insurance companys are or if they decline or give false information to reject claims for a kick back to the vet, but I am very unsatisfied with the product and support from trupanion. They also increased the insurance rates no notice because costs across bc had risen? I will be not recommending this insurance company to anyone with pets and feeling pressured from vets wether or not they are getting push back from insurance companies to pedal their products. I will also be having a conversation with our vet about the relationship between trupanion and if they actually care about the health and safety of our pets. I had no issue with the rate increase or the wait time for the claim to go through, it was the fact I was told our dog showed signs before hand and is not eligible..what's to say he didn't show signs of anything else? Its what ever the relationship between the vet and trupanion determines. I will just continue to pay vet bills in full and fully expect trupanion and the vets only care about the money

This was my first time to file a claim

This was my first time to file a claim. The process was very easy. After 2 weeks they sent an email saying they were a little behind in processing claims. As it was my first time to file I called to make sure they had received all the information they needed and did they know how long the process would take. The customer service person I spoke to was so nice, patient and helpful. And within 48 hours I received the email that my claim was processed! I’m so glad I took out insurance on my 2 kittens and I made the right choice with Pets Best!!!
