Sonnet charges you for your policy years after you’ve cancelled it

Stay away from Sonnet! I cancelled my policy with them in 2022 as I’d sold my property. They still charged me an annual fee in 2023. I called and found out they had not cancelled my account as I had been told. Because it was over the phone, I had no proof. I was assured again that the policy was cancelled and that I would not be billed. But if you can believe I was just charged in 2024. They told me I could go cancel online. But I can’t as i am living abroad and you can’t login to their website if you are outside of Canada. My bank has charged me $90 in NSF fees so far for their attempts to withdraw money. Sonnet refuses to refund me the policy payments. I was assured a few days ago that they would not make any more withdrawal attempts. But they just tried to withdraw again today and my bank can’t stop these withdrawals. It’s a nightmare. Stay away from them, I can’t imagine the stress they would cause if you actually made a claim! They steal money from you and the staff doesn’t know Sonnet’s policies so they mislead you and it will cost you! Also, Every time I emailed them with my complaint and requested getting my money refunded, they reply with an email that says they are so happy to help and all this “thank you for taking the time to email us”. Then they don’t ready your complaint. My complaint was that I couldn’t get a hold of them from abroad and I couldn’t login to my sonnet account abroad either. They responded to all my requests, above 10, telling me to call their 1-844 or to login for a secure chat. Both I couldn’t do from abroad. So they take my money and they claim to be an o lone company- but they aren’t available to communicate via email nor do they have any other way to communicate with those abroad. It’s criminal and they owe me over $1000 currently. Please don’t respond to me below with exclamation marks and insincere lines that are generic. It isn’t kind to take peoples money and then sarcastically or passive aggressively respond to a complaint below. Taking money from people affects their lives and isn’t to be taken lightly.

Embrace Has paid nothing on my claims since I signed up

I was excited to start Embrace because I heard only good things about it. I have since realized it is not what I thought it was. I have had Embrace for over a year and they never paid a single thing out of everything I’ve claimed from new foreleg lameness my dog obtained to an ear infection because they classify skin issues as ear infections. They tried to permanently deny her coverage for any random bump she received for her life due to me asking a vet on an unrelated visit to just check something that had appeared on her lip (which dried up and fell off two weeks later and I never went back to an appointment for it). They denied her therapy for her foreleg first due to an incorrect receipt provided by the therapist and didn’t tell me until I sent in a renewed claim with the correct receipt that because I was having a virtual appointment instead of in person one they would deny all coverage because the therapist themselves wasn’t doing it. Everything was stressful, a hassle, and over expensive compared to what I was getting. I do not recommend Embrace and highly encourage people to understand what you’re agreeing to before you pay for it.

Diana in Claims was especially helpful…

Diana in Claims was especially helpful for Vinny's pre-authorization for dental surgery. She specifically explained what documents were needed. Once received she completely took charge and called with a decison the same day. This was my first claim to file with Spot and Diana definately made the process less stressful.

This company is going to knowingly kill…

This company is going to knowingly kill tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of animals. Their current policy change will tear families apart and cause people to have to rehome their pet or put them down because they can't afford emergency surgery. Absolutely disgusting.

Submitting a claim is an easy process with Embrace. My cat, every once in a while, has some injury that allows me to submit a medical claim. I am not a fan of the limited reimbursements

I am not a fan of the annual reimbursement limits and how little they pay for the services, such as the vaccines and the teeth cleaning, when those services cost significantly more than how much PetsBest is willing to pay you back for. It is unfair that I am paying around $90 monthly only to get $70 back for a $200 vet visit. That does not sound like 90-100% of a reimbursement back to me. I am grateful that my pet is insured but it is an expensive upkeep with very little payback.
