This company will use any excuse and any liberal way of interpreting medical results to weasel out of paying a bill. They declared Valley fever to be a pre-existing condition when a titer result was questionable to a vet. Then when a subsequent titer was negative, they declined to reclassify. This was but one example. Every claim was questioned using a phony interpretation of symptoms. DON'T BUY THIS INSURANCE!

UNRESOLVED CAT SICKNESS CLAIM. 3 MONTHS
WE HAVE HAD THIS INSURANCE FOR OUR, ALMOST, 2 YR OLD CAT. BEFORE THE INS. COVERAGE, (OVER A YEAR AGO), HE WAS SICK. NOTHING WAS DIAGNOSED. BUT, HE GOT BETTER HIS APETITE WAS REDUCED AND HAD SLIGHT FEVER. ROLL ON TO THIS JULY.. HE WAS LISTLESS, LAYING AROUND, GENERALLY UNHAPPY. WE TOOK HIM TO GET CHECKED OUT. CLAIMED FOR APPT WITH EMBRACE, THATS WHAT ITS FOR. CLAIM WAS DENIED DUE TO 'PRE-EXISTING CONDITION OF "REDUCED APPETITE"' SERIOUSLY, EMBRACE? WHEN IS THAT A CONDITION? HAVE HAD TO GET VETS LETTER FOR EMBRACE TO EXPLAIN THEY HAVE THEIR WIRES CROSSED AND THE TWO ISSUES ARE UNRELATED. WE ARE CURRENTLY 'IN REVIEW', MORE THANK THREE/3 MONTHS LATER!! NOT A FAN OF THIS COMPANY.

Avoid at all costs
It's obvious that when you make a claim with Pets Best, they will do everything, and I mean EVERYTHING to get out of paying. My dog had to have many extractions due to periodontal disease and they had a loophole to get out of paying. Their advertising and coverage details are misleading and I'll be reporting to the U.S. Consumers Affairs department. Additionally, their Wellness Routine program is a scam. You end up paying more with this service when combined with the vet bill as Pets Best nickel and dimes their way out of any responsibility. Unfortunately, once your pet has a condition while on Pets Best, you cannot leave for another insurance company because now your pet's issue will be considered a pre-existing condition and thus not covered. This is why Pets Best will abuse their customers with ridiculous price increases because they know that their customers are stuck with them. Avoid this insurance company at all costs.
