I have carried Pets Best on my dog for almost four years. It was great peace of mind even though I never used it - one very small claim the first year when she ate a chicken bone she found at the park. But recently she got very sick, and needed to spend two days in the hospital to survive. The vet thinks she ate a poisonous spider. The bill was huge. I carry one of the top plans for her with a low deductible. Pets Best covered everything but two small line items not in her policy coverage. I was reimbursed fast and their process was easy to use, I just uploaded pictures of the bills and vet notes. I recommend Pets Best to everyone I meet at the dog park. Everyone should have this, for peace of mind and so you know your dog can get the care they need when they need it. I carried it for years without needing it and hoped I never would need it, just like I've had car insurance for 20 years without ever being in an accident. But when I did need it, Pets Best was there for me. If you have a dog, you should have insurance on him/her, just like car insurance, home insurance, and your own health insurance. And I trust this insurance company. Fast, reliable, true to their word on policy coverage, great communication, excellent website and online account management and claims. A++

Getting pet insurance is the best decision Ive ever made for my pets. I learned the hard way by going through a tough situation with a dog that ended up passing. I was unable to afford a 5k surgery and had to make the hardest decision as a pet owner. Now my two cats both have insurance through VPI. As rescues you never know what type of health issues may arise. I've never had to submit a claim for one and the other has needs lots of medical attention. VPI has allowed me to give them both the best care possible. You never know what will happen and the policies are very affordable and a small price for peace of mind.

Recently my Irish wolfhound Lucy ate a toy. So she had surgery at our vet. We'll she wasn't getting any better so we took her back to the vet. We had an ultrasound and found her intestines had detached after the surgery. So she had to have surgery again within 4 days. Needless to say we had a very large bill of approximately $5800. Pets best was quick and paid more than 1/2 of the bill!!!!

I am very happy with Trupanion. I didn't even know about pet insurance until I got a new puppy and at the vet office they told me about it and gave me the info from trupanion for a free 30 day trial for my puppy. I ended up signing my older dog up for it and she unexpectantly got very sick and this insurance paid exactly what the policy states. I am very glad I have this.
