Premiums WILL Increase Significantly in your First Year
Your payments WILL increase. They specifically said premiums won’t increase because of age. 1 year later my payment is increasing by ~20%. Let me add that I haven’t received a dollar from them yet for any claims (I had a claim get rejected and made no others this past year). So when I inquired why it was increasing I was told that it is due to “inflation” in my local area. When I asked for evidence of this, they send me a link to their quarterly earnings report. Their revenue has grown significantly in the last few years (15% increase since last year!), so why do I have to pay more? Oh right, because Trupanion is a money-sucking scam making hundreds of millions. BUYER BEWARE!

Not worth it at all!…
Trupanion is incredibly disappointing when it comes to claim payments. They often try to link every expense to nonsense reasons to avoid covering costs. For example, during my puppy's first vet appointment at 2 months old, the vet mentioned we should monitor his teeth as she grows. Later, when an X-ray was needed, Trupanion refused to pay, claiming it was related to earlier signs. They paid nothing! Total scam!

User friendly claim process
Spot makes it so easy to file a claim. The claim review and reimbursement timeline is only a few days. I can’t imagine not having Spot insurance for my guy. It provides so much peace of mind.

Our puppy ate a part of a deceased rodent
I woke up in the middle of the night with my pup thowing up. Upon inspection it was clear she had eaten some kind of rodent (a baby bunny, or rat). Unfortunately, our kitties will sometime kill creatures and leave them behind bushes. Our puppy is normally very vivacious but the next morning she had diarrhea, was difficult to arouse and extremely listless. Would not eat or drink water. I was worried that she could have secondary poisoning or bones in her system. I called our vet and decided to take her into URGENT care. The vet checked vitals, did blood work, x-ray and determined she would be ok, gave her some med prescribed meds for inflammation and her tummy. I submitted the claim; a little worried that insurance would not pay as I did not call Embrace ahead to get advice but they paid a good portion of the entire bill and follow up. I was very happy with the outcome. Great communication and expedient reimbursement for the claim.
