So far, so good

I'm a registered veterinary technician who is no longer in practice. When I left practice, I knew it was important to insure my dog as I no longer had access to discounted vet care. I chose Embrace due to the USAA discount and the wellness plan option. I like the idea of having a wellness plan in place that is not linked directly to one vet clinic. I can use it where ever I chose (and where ever we may end up moving to in the future). My wellness claim was paid extremely fast. I hope to not have to use the injury/illness coverage, but I am glad it is there.

Glad we have pet insurance through ASPCA

Our pup is nearly one year old, and we've have to submit two claims. Considering what vets cost these days (and we love ours), ASPCA reimburses a decent amount.

Thank you Pets + Us!

I am so thankful that I applied for Pets + Us when I did! My 1.5 year old mutt started to limp shortly after we got coverage and what we thought was just a sore leg blew up into arthritis+ surgery+ rehab. Her surgery alone was $4000, and Pets + Us helped cover everything. Because of this we have be able to put Bella into hydrotherapy and have laser treatments done as well. We hope that she will have a long and pain-free life.

Wonderful!

Our Frenchie had to have emergency foreign body removal surgery and the ease of submitting invoices to get reimbursed couldn't have been any easier! Instead of worrying about insurance coverage, we worried about our pet. Every time we submit a claim, which is a lot of you know French Bulldogs, our claim is processed in less than a week! We been extremely pleased with Healthy Paws! Thank you!

Baby Pom Broke her leg

I recently bought a baby pomeranian home - my very first pet. My brother told me to get insurance because his friends has experienced illness/accidents that costed them a fortune. I decided to look up the reviews of multiple pet insurance companies and decided to settled for PetPlusUs. All i can say is that im truly thankful that i bought insurance early on because my puppy broke her leg within the first month of having her. PetPlusUs was helpful throughout this process on the phone and via email. In the end i was able to get back 80% of my surgery cost back (a check of slightly over 3k!!). My dog is all better now but had to go in for routine xray scans which cost $170 each time and I also recieved 80% of the costs back. Overall a great insurance company with great customer service.

Very Helpful and Considerate

We had purchased Trupanion Insurance for our new dog. We had never had Pet Insurance before and chose Trupanion from The Reviews online and from the recommendation of others. When I had to make a claim, I called Trupanion to make sure that I knew the proper steps to take. Their Representative was congenial, sympathetic and very kind. She helped me through the process and, with her help, I was able to make a Claim. Shortly thereafter, I received emails notifying me of the status of the claim. After several days, the claim was approved and I got a further email asking about the health of my dog. I am very happy with this experience. It was done efficiently and smoothly. Thank you, P.L. Pretty good

We have had to use the insurance twice and were o.k. with the coverage. I thought we would get more money back, but something is better than nothing.

Illness exclusion upon policy renewal

We have always carried pet health insurance for all our dogs. Our claim history with Zuzu our 9 yr old mixed dachshund is scarce as we really had no terrible incidents, thank God. However I am very scare of that renewal clause in which any illness during a policy period will be considered a pre-existing condition, after certain age we all including pets develop arthritis etc. In Zuzu's case arthritis is the issue. If the insurance carrier offers a guaranteed coverage for an additional fee, this offer has a minimal disclosure, just to make sure that the majority of people will not even notice it. It is unfortunate that pet insurance is so deceiving and unregulated, pet owners consider their pets as their children and after years of paying for costly insurance premiums is heartbreaking to find yourself financing out of pocket your pet's medical needs. I intend to review all the pet insurance carriers in the market when my renewal approaches.

A big help

Rusty got sick quickly and it got very expensive very fast. It was nice to know that relief would come by getting these bills covered by insurance.
