Great Dog Insurance

Embrace is very quick to reimburse. I hoped to never need to use the insurance, but when I needed it, they did what they advertise.

Another Failed insurance company…

I have had Nationwide for over a decade. My pomeranian will be 13 in September- If he makes it. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure at the beginning of 2025. His six medications are now at $300. Per month. For the last several months Nationwide has paid zero. Z150 excuse you know- your pet has exceeded the limitations in the policy. At $210. Per month for Nationwide pet insurance, what am i paying for? A cytopoint shot now and then? I hasten to add: my dog needs these medications to stay alive. Nationwide also paid less than half of his total cardiac workup, echocardiogram, doppler, blood pressure and blood work and 2 follow up appointments doctors said he needed back in March.(with a prominent Southern California cardiology firm.) My premiums have gone up EVERY year since my dog was a puppy. What a surprise that was- even in some years where there were few or no claims. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A YEAR IN WHICH NATIONWIDE PAID OUT MORE THAN I PAID IN. They have made money on me since 2013. Now that my priceless companion is failing, NATIONWIDE is not there for him. They wont be there for you either when the going gets rough. Either go with another company, - or better yet, SELF-insure. Nationwide is but another example of the sad state of health insurance in America today.

The surgery for Rosy my best friend

When my Boston Terrier Rosy was in to see the vet for vaccinations in April, my vet found a cyst under her left front leg. The vet told me that Rosy needed it removed so she scheduled it asap. Prudent Pet insurance is Rosy’s and my Hero. They paid promptly without questions the full amount due for the surgery. I couldn’t have gotten the surgery without them. It was cancerous but vet thinks they were able to get it all and we will get regular follow up visits.

One Less Worry During an Emergency Vet Visit

Had a big emergency vet bill completely covered by our policy, had my claim approved within 3 days of submitting and payout was received by the end of the week! Very easy system to work with.

Waste of money & waste of time

Waste of money & waste of time. We've been customers for almost a year. Every claim we submitted, they found some excuse or reason as to why it wasn't covered. They push every veterinary medical expense to be uncovered. What's the point in pet insurance if you're not going to cover anything, especially in a business where they over-charge at a criminal rate on people who are just trying to help their pets live healthy. It's insane. Complete scam, just trying to take your money. Canceled our membership for our 6 pets today. Lost complete faith in this company.

Inflexible timing for policies

Purchased a policy last year for our 2 year old dog. Had first wellness visit and process went well, got reimbursed for the qualified amount fairly fast. This year we were notified by our vet that it was time for wellness so we booked based on our available schedule between business trips. Well, turns out the appointment was 1 day earlier than last year, so Embrace denied the claim saying the "new policy" hadn't started (even though it was submitted 2 months after the fact and we had a recurring policy). They used the exact 365 days instead of having any sort of flexibility to the fact it was a year later, which is not feasible when trying to schedule appointments around work. I asked if they had an exception process given we were talking only a single day, and they said they make no exceptions for any reason. Beware that they have ZERO flexibility and will hold to the letter of everything without any exceptions. I explained I intended to be a customer for years with current pets and future, but they had no interest in keeping me as a customer. All due to a 1 day difference in the appointment.

Fast and easy service

I’m so glad I changed my pet insurance over to MetLife. They have been very fast with reimbursement on claims and cover so much more than my prior carrier. I have so much more peace of mind knowing that if my pet is ill, I don’t have to worry about finances.
