Typical insurance company that avoids paying out
My breeder had my puppy on trupanion before I got him. When I picked him up, I transferred his account to me. I then took him to his 8 weeks checkup where they found a crooked mouth. The vet wanted to remove his baby canine to help his jaw straighten. The vet submitted the claim to see if I would have coverage. Trupanion denied it saying that they won't cover it because it was found on his first assessment after starting trupanion. But he was on trupanion before I even got him, and he had had veterinary checkups before I got him. Frankly, I think if they are going to be this greasy about this claim, it's likely an absolute waste of money to give them hundreds of dollars a year so they can continue denying claims based on this sort of basis. I wish I never gave them a dime, and I'd advise others to avoid.
