PetsBest is Best
Could not have had an easier experience working with PetsBest for my Husky. We needed two TPLO surgeries and a lot of medication. PetsBest made it simple to file a claim and cover their end based on my plan. I was given horror stories from friends about dealing with pet insurance companies but my experience with PetsBest could not have been better. Thank you PetsBest!!!

A True Godsend…
I am so happy that God guided me to consider and finally decide to obtain Pet Insurance through SPOT for my doggie. Unfortunately, Lucky my 7 year old Maltipoo recently had an ACL tear and she actually had surgery this morning. As previously mentioned, it was a Godsend to have pet insurance, I would have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out how to pay for the almost 6k for the surgery today. My anxiety and worry has been diminished greatly with the help of (reimbursement) from SPOT Insurance. I will still worry about my baby while she is in the recovery phase of her surgery but I can better focus on helping her without the additional financial burden. Thank you so much SPOT!!

I am incredibly grateful for PetsBest
I am incredibly grateful for PetsBest. Our beloved Princess, who unfortunately passed away, required multiple tests and medications, all of which PetsBest covered. PetsBest not only allowed us to provide the best quality of life for our precious Princess but also helped us avoid financial hardship during a challenging time. I am giving a 5-star review, though I would rate it 4.5 stars if that were an option, due to a couple of areas for improvement. First, while PetsBest ultimately covered all expenses, the review process for the initial claims took quite some time (around a month). However, after those first few claims, subsequent reviews were much quicker (less than two weeks). Second, their direct vet payment option could be more user-friendly. To this day, I am unsure how it works or how to use it, as the instructions provided were not clear in my opinion. Despite these points, PetsBest has earned a 5-star review for their excellent support and compassion. For example, after Princess passed away, our family was devastated and not focused on things such as cancelling Princess insurance. PetsBest not only canceled Princess’s policy to prevent additional charges but also reimbursed us for part of the insurance premium for the month she passed away. This level of care and understanding was truly appreciated. In summary, I highly recommend PetsBest and will continue using their services for our other dog. They provide excellent coverage and support when you need it most. That said, there is room for improvement, particularly in the claims review process and direct vet payment system, which could make an already great service even better. Lastly, a reminder to pet owners: be aware that pre-existing conditions are not covered under the insurance.

Very helpful customer service
I switched my two dogs to MetLife in June 2024 after receiving notice that Nationwisde would not be renewing their policies. Sign-up over the phone was simple and the plan was almost the same as what I had, and cost less. I made my first illness claim in September and it was approved in about three weeks. I submitted an illness claim for my second dog in December and there were a few glitches (claim put on hold twice for missing documents which I actiually did submit). Both times I called Customer Service they quickly verified that I had indeed submitted the documents and had the claim removed from "on hold". Approval and payment came two days after my second phone call. I understand MetLife has seen a huge influx of customers from Nationwide and had to hire more staff to process claims. I am hopeful processing will go more smoothly once all the new staff are fully trained. Overall, I am very happy with MetLife.

GOOD and BAD
I have been with Embrace for eight years now. I've had some mixed feelings but have found that the claim process has been easy, the policy has been outlined and reasonably explained. However, the issues I have are in the area of what is and is not covered and the increases. There are things that are not just black and white and I feel a few of my claims were warranted but declined. The response time to the submissions are excellent although not always in agreement with what I feel should be covered. In addition to that, the annual increases have been in sudden significant jumps. Last year my policy went up over 25%. This year, I believe it's going up again. This has made me reconsider renewing my policy.
