You are Incredible

A little over a year ago our new 3 momth olg pup "STORM" had a horrible accident when he was attack by a neighbor's malamute. The dog grabed Storm's leg by getting his head under our fence . The leg was just barley hanging on. We rushed him to the emergency vet.clinic where they we able to save his life and with 4 surgeries they were able to save his leg.We had only taken Embrace out a few days before this happened. You were there from the beginning and followed us through the entire process...not only paying our claims; but also encourageing usas we went through the ups and downs of Storm's recovery. A couple of month ago he started having problems with his left back leg. He had a luxation of the patella and had surgery to keep it in place and is now recovering form that surgery. EMBRACE has been right there for us. In less than a month after the surgery, the claims have been paid to our satisfaction. It would be great if our our health insurance would be as efecient. As long has we have dogs ,we'll hvae EMBRACE!

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, Canton Ohio

They use their own fee schedule, so even if they pay 80% for a particular malady, it is 80% of what they say is reasonable for your area. It is not based on your actual charges. I found this misleading.

Everything is excluded in fine, fine print

We have 2 English bulldogs who are now 16 months old. At the age of 4 months we purchased AKC healthcare for both of them. Our male had a cavity above his screwtail so surgery was performed in 8/2007. This was not covered because they said it was congenital but our vet, who had checked him since the age of 7 weeks, had never discovered it before. Our female started limping on her left hind leg in October of 2007 so our vet referred to a specialist. The specialist suggested inserting pins in her knee since it was very weak. We had this surgery performed in January of 2008 and, of course, this surgery was not reimbursed either. This insurance is a scam - DO NOT PURCHASE SINCE THEY COVER NOTHING!

A Great Inurance Plan

I would highly recommend this company for pet insurance! Our dog had the Pets First Plan. My dog needed back surgery for a herniated disc and the day after surgery, the pins broke. So, she had to have surgery again to replace the pins. Those also broke soon after the surgery and could not be replaced. Because the vet could not assure us of success with no pins, we had to make the awful decision of putting her down. Our vet bills came to about $7000 and after a week of processing the claim, we received a check for $5600 from Pets Best within ten days! Their customer service is also wonderful, they were friendly and easy to talk to. When we are ready to get another dog, we will be sure to purchase our insurance from Pets Best!

Caring, warm, involved staff!

I wish that my own health insurance personnel were as caring as the Embrace staff. They kept up communication with me throughout the whole process and repeatedly reminded me to call if i had any concerns or questions. When i called, i was connected to someone who immediately knew who i was without needing to know my policy number, name, social security number, date of birth, mother's maiden name, grandfather's nickname, shoe size, favorite color, etc., as does my own health insurance. She even asked how my little missy was. How's that for amazing? Real people really caring. I say, G-D bless them with the same kindness they ALL show to us! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Do your homework and read the fine print!

I'm going to take part of the responsibility here in that we were naive to the number of pet insurance companies out there and just went with ASCPA because of who they were affiliated with. Big mistake. We signed up for our insurance in June. We went with the second highest coverage (Premier) for our lab mix. New Years Eve he slipped in the yard, tore his ACL and needed surgery. We knew we were going to have to eat part of the cost, but were thankful we were going to get at least part of it back. We went ahead with the surgery and submitted our claim. Whoops! ACL surgery is not covered for the first 12 months...and since you renew every year, you have to basically pony up for an entire year before they will cover something major. Many of the other pet insurance companies begin ACL coverage after just six months, which we would have been well inside of with another outfit. This is also much more expensive than other companies I have since compared it with. I plan to cancel my coverage at the end of the month after I've had his check-up and teeth cleaned...which they are supposed to pay for, so my $500 worth of premiums won't be completely wasted.

Embrace is the best for your Pets!

I investigated all of the Pet Insurance Policies on the market & Embrace is the best & way above the others for coverage & flexibility. They give you control over your deductible & out of pocket you pay. The maximum is per year, not per incident, & they cover any hereditary issues your pet may develop. The premiums are very reasonable also & less than some others companies who offer less coverage. I have made my first two claims & they do exactly what they say they will & the claims process is very informative & easy. If they cannot process on time they let you know & keep you updated. I am sooooo happy with Embrace & have already recommended them time & time again. I do not want my babies to be without them - I can have our large dogs covered allieviating the fear I cannot afford to, medically, take care of them. This is an absolute must for anyone with a pet!!!

Great company!

I just received a payment on my first claim with Embrace. They decided that ALL the charges that I submitted were coverable, including tax, and the claims payment was exactly what I hoped for. The claim was for charges associated with a lower back injury that my dog suffered. I was concerned that the claim would be denied as a preexisting condition because he had had trouble with his lower back once before we bought the Embrace policy--most insurance companies would find any excuse to call that a preexisting condition. But not Embrace. They contacted me to ask for details about the two injuries, and I appreciated the opportunity to explain why the two injuries were unrelated. Communication with customer service was easy, and they kept me posted on the status of my claim. I was a longtime customer of VPI prior to switching to Embrace, and I'll never look back!

BEWARE

I really hate this company. They have some crazy "pre-existing" condition policies that get sprung on you when you least expect (or can afford) it... basically, they claim that ANY condition that has EVER been filed (and how many times might you have a puppy/dog with a stomach ache in its lifetime, for example...), it will NEVER be covered again after the calendar year that you first file it. An ongoing condition (for instance, my dog has epilepsy, which controlled by medication, but she is supposed to get her blood levels monitored every year or so) - that is first diagnosed in December of 2007 will suddenly become A PRE-EXISTING condition as of Jan 1 2008, and nothing - medication, vet checks, etc - will EVER be covered for that illness ever again. This has cost me a lot of money. I have wanted to cancel for years, but keep it because my dog is a senior and i expect there will be more illness to come, but I HATE this company. they truly make up their own rules to suit their bottom line - they are not a god company.
