service non-existent

I have been trying for days to get in touch with someone who can give me some answers. I cannot get send an e-mail to ASPCA insurance; cannot get anyone at the various insurance companies that are listed on the policies. My payment is going to PMIA, so I have no idea if my cats are covered. I didn't register immediately on the web site when I signed up for the insurance, so now I cannot get on the web site to check my account or even get a new password. They should tell people to sign onto the web site right away.

None of them cover "cogenital or hereditary"

I called asking for a list of "congenital" disorders for a border collie and was told there was no way to tell until I bought the insurance, my dog got sick and I turned in the claim for their review. I asked about "hereditary" diseases for a dog of unknown parentage (I adopted a border collie rescue dog). They said the same applies: buy the insurance, wait for your dog to get sick, and we may or may not pay the claim. I decided not to buy the insurance. I found the same disclaimer on all the other policies out there. I suggest putting money away in a savings account every month and call it your pet emergency fund. Hopefully you won't need it, but you can then decide how much to pay yourself back per incident.

So far so good

Just went through the precertification process for my dog's upcoming bilateral patellar subluxation surgery and I must say that it has been a pleasant and simple process. The people I have been coresponding with have been friendly, kind, compassionate and prompt. If the entire process works out the same I will be truly impressed. As a physician accustomed to dealing with people insurance I can say they could learn alot from the way Embrace deals with their clients. So far would recommend them without reservation!!

They are the best!

Pets Best has paid two claims for my dog. One was an emergency and they paid over $3000. The other was minor but again no problem with the coverage. In comparing plans, they seem to be the most comprehensive.

No complaints....happy so far

We have 4 pets insured through Pets Best (since March). We recently put in a claim for our cat. I was afraid that Pets Best would not pay a claim because there was no definitive diagnosis after I submitted the first claim. Lots of tests were done and our bill was over $600. The vet wasn't sure if she had a bladder infection or possibly a bladder tumor (ultrasound showed strange findings). We knew we would continue to have follow up appts with our vet. We submitted our claim and Pets Best covered it. They did say that in order for them to accept another claim, they needed a definitive diagnosis. I appreciate that they still paid the first claim. I can understand where they are coming from. Needless to say, we did get a diagnosis. It ended up being an infection and they did pay the second claim as well. The only thing I never understood is that the vet gave our cat an injection for the infection and Pets Best didn't cover it. It was only $20.00 and I'm not sure why it wasn't covered...everything else was.

Buy it! Buy it! Buy it!

We have only had Embrace insurance for 5 months and we CANNOT be happier with our purchase. It has been the best investment my husband and I have made. THere are no "catches," no reasons they find for not approving when the policy seems to state it should, and the turn around time is quick on claims (especially after your first one). Also.. we picked this insurance because, after MUCH homework, we found they are one of the ONLY insurances to cover "genetic diseases" such as dysplasia. For other companies that do cover this diseases, almost all of them will only cover "one side" of the body. A dog is almost never dysplastic on just one hip, or one elbow. And sure enough... our only 14 month old high-spirited and extremely handsome yellow lab has elbow dysplasia. He is having surgery in just a few days, on both elbows at a cost of $3,000. Our total price? $300. THANK YOU EMBRACE!!!!

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance

ASPCA Pet Health Insurance is a farce. They have developed a fee schedule based on "unknown vets" in the area and refuse to give out the names of vets charging fees they say are "average". They issue a "plan comparison", but do not honor the ASPCA Reimbursement fees.

Better Than Expected

I have had Pets Best Insurance for a while now. I have my two dogs insured through them. One of the dogs has had a number of health issues. The most recent issue resulted in almost 3K in vet bills. Pets Best has always been very good, but I wasn't sure what the outcome of this last claim would be. Well it was even better than expected. While they paid 80% of all the covered charges, I was also not charged a deductable, as they considered this illness a continueing illness from a previous claim. The good thing about them, is that once you pay the per illness deductible, all further claims on that same illiness or injury do not require you to pay another decuctible no matter how many times you have to have your animal treated. They are the best.

What an Insurance Company Should Be

After a horrible experience with VPI, I signed up with Embrace after seeing all the positive reviews on this site. After 3 months my pet had to be hospitalized for seizures. I was a little nervous since I had just signed my dog up for coverage, but the Embrace team was wonderful and so caring. They kept in constant communication with me and processed my claim within the 15 days promised. Even after the check was received they emailed me to follow up on how my dog was doing. Great company and should be the blueprint for other insurance companies.
