They do not reimburse

We have 16 month old dog who was just diagnosed with heartworm. Dogs under one year do not get tested for heartworm. Trupanion is claiming we didnt give our dog heartguard and we allowed this to happen. How are we to know if the dig was never tested prior to this? Therefore they are denying our claim. They have also denied us two other claims, one for Giardia and another for eating grapes. The grapes was supposedly a preexisting condition because she ingested gorilla glue a few months prior. Not 100% related. Three claims and three denials later we will switch back to our old carrier who never denied us. We left becasue nupanion was supposedly cheaper and covers 90%. They may be cheaper per month but not cheaper in the long run. Id rather pay a higher premium and have a lower reimbursement. TRUPANION IT TERRIBLE DO NOT USE THEM. Their customer service dept has not called me back either.

deductible per incident not per year - bad policy

After having lost two dogs in the past year who were uninsured, we were determined to insure our new puppies. One big problem I have with Pets Best is that their deductibles are per incident not, as with AKC, per year. Most of the claims we have filed have been denied due to not meeting the deductible on those issues. Also, Pets Best doesn't cover preventative medicine like heartwork. AKC does cover preventative medicine. I am very tempted to switch to AKC. On a positive, Pets Best has had a very good response time.

They pay low claims

I have had them for the past few months and my first claim was for 80% of $500 and I only received $20.00! The next two claims were just as weak. What a rip off. Nothing is covered as what is stated and they have so many excuses of why it's not covered.

Very satisfied with insurance

I am writing to thank you for your excellent health insurance for my pet. I have been a customer of yours for over 3 years and I have never had difficulty having a claim paid under my value plan. But what is most important to me is the peace of mind of knowing that I would never have to make a medical decision for my valued friend based on whether or not I could afford the treatment or procedure.

premium increase

I have had Pets Best for a few years now. My dogs are 7 and 13. While I have been with them for the past three years, they have raised my deductible once and have raised my premium cost three times. This past increase was a 31% increase. That is ridiculous and outrageous. I have had to drop my coverage with them in order to maintain the insurance. Unfortunately, I cannot go to another provider because of the age of my older dog and preexisting conditions would apply. I am very disappointed in Pet's Best. They should be ashamed to impose a 31% increase on anyone.

Very good for those big, unexpected events

When my eight year old Vizsla mix was diagnosed with multiple mast cell tumors, we were overwhelmed with worry about our beloved pet, but also worry about the cost of his care. Our plan with ASPCA covers 80% of "reasonable" costs. Since we live in a very expensive metro area,we were certain that 80% of "reasonable" would equate to about 15% of the actual cost. I was so pleased (and quite frankly surprised) to find that in total, about 65-70% of our costs were covered--certainly more than we have paid in premiums over the years. Also, the ability to submit the claim forms online and have them processed within a week or two was great. The customer service reps were very helpful whenever I called.

peace of mind coverage!

Embrace had been such a blessing to our family. We own an english bulldog, should I say more? Our dog was born with a congenital disorder. If we didn't have Embrace we wouldn't of been able to give him a second chance at life. We appreciate the caring staff and there professionalism. We will always use Embrace for all of our future pets. You just never know when you'll need it.

Reliable, Timely Coverage

I have a 9 1/2 year old dog who I recently purchased Pets Best coverage for after the (expensive) and painful loss of her mother in April. Without hesitation, Pets Best covered my dog at this age. I recently took her to her vet for a tumor on her leg. The tumor was mast cell cancer and had to be removed. During surgery, more tumors were found on her spleen and her spleen was also removed. The stress and worry of my dog's cancer was alleviated by Pets Best paying for her surgery so she could receive the care she needed. I was reimbursed very timely and they also paid my balance owed to the vet. I would highly recommend this pet insurance for your dog. This is one of the few companies that covers older dogs at a decent rate.
