No Red Tape for Removing Bibby's Polyp

My husband and I are completely satisfied with Trupanion. Recently we noticed Bibby had been throwing up for a couple of days - we didn't think much of it because when Bibby doesn't eat at the time we feed him he'll throw up, so we thought it was 'normal' for him. But coming home from work one day we found Bibby glued to his water bowl and drinking excessively. His stomach was swollen and he was nervous to our touch. After blood tests and xrays our vet revealed Bibby has what's called a polyp (a blockage in the stomach lining) which is common in male Shih Tzu's. Bibby had to go through surgery to remove it. Our bill totaled over $3K but thankfully purchasing Trupanion pet insurance for our baby boy with ZERO deductable saved us over $2800.00 - we only paid $300.00. I highly recommend Trupanion for your four-legged loved ones - not only did they save us $$$ but there was absolutely no red tape to cut through.

Good to work with

Issues with coverage, but they were willing to work them out reasonably. Hope to continue with them.

THIS IS THE WORST INS CO I HAVE EVER DELT WITH

I am truly upset and frustrated with this company. I hate the 30 day wait period! Not only that if you submit a claim with several charges, they do not question the individual claims they will deny it all together. The wait time on the phone is longer than it should be. The 80% reimbursement is only on the allowed amount they feel should be charged. For instance is a vaccine is $20 but they feel it should only be $10, they will reimburse 80% of the $10.

Quick Response

This is the third claim I've submitted to Embrace and so far they have an excellent record on fulfilling their brochure promises. My kitty had pretty extensive medical needs this year, and I didn't have to fight with them about coverage - unlike my "human" insurance!

Lump Removal

Gracie had a lump on her head just above her left eye. I noticed it was growing larger each month. I took her to the vet and they removed it. Embrace paid quickly.

Trixie thanks ASPCA insurance!

We had just purchased pet insurance, and had it for sometime when our rambunctious little dog Trixie stepped on a fox tail while chasing a bunny at her favorite park. what cost us close to $300 ended up costing about $100 plus dollars. And that was at an emergency clinic, which we all know can be very expensive. we are so glad we had ASPCA pet insurance. And so is Trixie, still chasing bunnies, but not in that fox tail infested field anymore.

Not Sure What's Covered

Ive had insurance for a number of years, maybe 7 or something. At the beginning I was reimbursed for at least some portion of nearly every bill. seems the reimbursements are far fewer these days. Its not a user friendly system, in terms of knowing what is/isnt covered. but i keep buying it, in case something major happens.

MY LIFE WITHOUT LILLIE

In 2001, my husbvand and I lost our black Lab, my husband knew how upset I was and he was the same after all Mickey was 17 years old. My husband started looking for an Australian Shepard, we found a litter of pups in our area and we went over to take look. We walked into the puppies cage area and I feel in love with this 6 week old female she was merle colored and had one blue eye and the other eye was half blue and half brown. Both her parents lived on the horse ranch with the pups. We tookher home with us and the next six years were a pure delite, everytime I went to the store and shopped I would pick her up a toy. When I would walk in the house she immediately had her head in the grocery bag to find her toy and would play with all the 300 toys she had and never chew them up. On December 5,2007 she stopped playing and eating, I immediatley took her to a veterinary hospital and unfortunately the vet misdiagnosed her illness. On December 19, 2007 I took her to another veterinary hospital and the Veterinarian there stated to me that he did not like what he was feeling in her abdomen and he wanted to do surgery on her. He asked me to go home and he would call me from the operating room. Three hours went by and I was about to go crazy when the phone rang, it was the vet and he stated that he was standing in front of Lillie and he stated that she had over 40 cancerous tumors along her back bone and in her bladder and her liver. He stated that to keep her from suffering

Excellent Alternative Medicine Coverage!

My rescue Aussie began getting itchy a couple months after we first bought an Embrace policy. Soon, she was spending much of her day chewing and licking herself, and often woke us up in the middle of the night with her scratching. We decided to try homeopathic treatment for her itching, and have been very pleased with the progress so far. The itching has decreased dramatically and she is even more active and happy than when we first brought her home. Embrace covered her certified veterinary homeopath's phone consultations in full. I am so glad that there is such an enlightened pet insurance company out there - their coverage let me try a treatment with few side effects that has also turned out to be very effective. They also have quick turnaround time on claims, helpful staff, and wonderful communication with their clients. Just a great company.
