Nothing but a bad experience! They will grasp at straws to not pay out a claim. Firstly, the agents you talk to have no idea why a claim would be denied (but you cannot speak to an Appeals Specialist for some reason). Once you finally get an answer to what info they need to put through an appeal they change what info is needed. I was basically brought to tears near the end of a week long battle because my vet would email them asking what info they needed and they would not respond. When I would call they pinned it on my vet not providing information... WHAT INFORMATION? Even there own agents don't know what info they need to approve/appeal a claim. Long story short: my dog had pre-existing skin problems he needed antibiotics, no worries, I follow the rules. I never submitted those invoices. During the 30 day wait period he went in for puppy vaccines and the vet inquired about his stool. I said it was a bit soft and she said it was due to vaccine. Fast forward 9 months later I submit vomiting and diarrhea claims in and they are all denied. Every time I proved to Trupanion that the trips after the 30 days were not related they came up with new wild goose chase. They are not helpful, each agent with give you different information. My vet was even baffled after he called in to find out how to solve this. There are no exact guidelines and everything is a grey area. Good Luck! I filed an appeal and cancelled my insurance and am now saving monthly on my own for an emergency.. I also filed a complaint with the BBB.

So easy!
Submitting claims was so easy! I either took a picture on my phone or scanned in the receipt from the vet, and in 2 days, I got confirmation. And once I met the deductible, the reimbursement check only took a few days to arrive.

Stress Relieving Ease of Care
My poor kitty has been undergoing some persistent digestive issues and we've had a number of visits to find the problem and the right treatment. Nationwide has processed each claim swiftly, communicated and reimbursed each claim fast to ensure while I'm caring for my baby, I'm not having to worry about Nationwide taking care of me.

My dog Jeets was rescue. I purchased your insurance as precaution. Six weeks into his arrival Jeets started having a mild seizure which after 10 minutes became a full blown seizure. He was diagnosed with seizure disorder. He's currently on medication and thank God his disorder in under control. You, ASPCA was there from day 1. You made our life's less complicated by making the the process simple and very easy to make a claim. I really stand behind your services and highly recommend it to every pet owner I meet. I could not have managed the added expense of helping our beloved dog. Thank you is not enough. I am so grateful.

Poor insurance
We started this insurance policy when we adopted our girl from a rescue. She had tested positive for Heartworm within a year of having her. This company has not paid 1 penny of any claim I have submitted this year. They are a waste of your time and your money. We are cancelling this policy. Why should I pay them $50 and still pay the vet bills out of pocket. LET ME REPEAT, not 1penny of any claim we ever submitted was covered. do not waste your time with them.

Best pet insurance company
I was so glad I had this insurance. My little 8 lb Maltese/Yorkie got a hold of a 2 inch chicken thigh bone and swallowed it whole. She had to have immediate surgery to remove it from her stomach. I turned in the bill to insurance and had reimbursement within a couple of days. No problem with the claim at all. Awesome ins.
